ADDITIONALLY, THE JUAREZ FAMILY WOULD LIKE TO PRESENT A CHECK TO THE SCHOOL DISTRICT, AND I WILL LET THEM MAKE A QUICK SPEECH HERE.

SO ON BEHALF OF THE DOMITILA AND TIMOTEO JUAREZ SENIOR EXCELLENCE IN EDUCATION FUND, IT IS TRULY OUR HONOR TO BE A PARTNER WITH LOCKHART ISD AND OF COURSE WITH YOUR ELEMENTARY CAMPUSES.

JUST A LITTLE HISTORICAL ASPECT.

BACK IN 2000, WE STARTED OUR SCHOLARSHIP FUNDS FOR GRADUATING SENIORS FROM LOCKHART HIGH SCHOOL.

BUT IN 2009, WE REALIZED THAT WE REALLY WANTED TO ACHIEVE EXCELLENCE.

WE NEEDED TO GET OUR ELEMENTARY STUDENTS OFF TO A GREAT START.

AND SO THEREFORE, WE'VE DONE THE SCHOOLS SCHOOL SUPPLY DRIVE IN PARTNERSHIP WITH LOCKHART ISD AND YOUR ELEMENTARY CAMPUS PRINCIPALS.

SO THANK YOU SO MUCH.

SEVEN 2728.

WE WILL NOW MOVE ON TO ITEM SEVEN BUSINESS CONSENT AGENDA ITEMS A THROUGH H.

I'LL MAKE A MOTION THAT WE APPROVE THE AGENDA AS WRITTEN.

I'LL SECOND. WE HAVE A MOTION.

WE HAVE A SECOND. ALL THOSE IN FAVOR SAY AYE? AYE. ANY OPPOSED? PASSES 7 TO 0.

WE MOVE ON TO ITEM EIGHT COMMUNICATION.

[First Day of School Update]

A FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL UPDATE VARIOUS PEOPLE.

I WAS GOING TO SAY GOOD EVENING.

I WAS GOING TO SAY YOU GET A THREE FOR ONE SPECIAL TONIGHT ON THIS ONE.

WE'LL BE PRESENTING MYSELF AND THEN MR. ACUNA AND MISS FAMBROUGH.

JUST WANTED TO SHOW A FEW PICTURES FROM THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL.

AS YOU CAN SEE, VERY BUSY.

WE HAD A LOT OF STUDENTS RETURNING TO LISD AND A LOT OF NEW ONES, AND YOU CAN SEE THAT OUR SUPERINTENDENT WAS UP VERY EARLY IN THE MORNING ON THAT FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL.

I'M GOING TO SHOWCASE JUST THREE AREAS THAT THAT WE THAT ARE IMPORTANT DURING THIS TIME OF THE YEAR IS ENROLLMENT, OPERATIONS AND STAFFING.

WE ADDED POP UP SITES, REGISTRATION SITES, AS WE DID LAST YEAR.

AND WE, AS YOU HEARD EARLIER, PARTNERED WITH FOR 12 KIDS AND DEL SUPERMERCADO, WHERE WE JUST POP UP OUR REGISTRATION SITES AND PARENTS JUST MEET US THERE AND WE HELP THEM GET REGISTERED.

I THINK OVERALL WE PROBABLY HAD BETWEEN 60 TO 80 THAT REGISTERED AT THOSE TWO SITES.

SO ONE OF THOSE REALLY NICE SERVICE THAT WE PROVIDE FOR OUR FAMILIES.

OUR ENROLLMENT NUMBERS, JUST HISTORICALLY, LOOKING BACK, BACK IN 2019-20, WE STARTED WITH 6015.

AND YOU CAN SEE THAT WE HAD THAT DIP IN 2021.

WE WENT BACK UP AND LAST YEAR WE STARTED WITH 6262, AND THIS YEAR WE HAVE 6551 WITH STILL STUDENTS WAITING TO BE ASSIGNED TO CAMPUSES.

SO YOU'LL SEE THAT NUMBER INCREASE AS WELL.

[00:25:05]

OUR LEADER AND ME WERE EXCITED TO START YEAR TWO OF LEADER IN ME.

AS YOU CAN SEE, IT'S JUST A PICTURE OF EVEN AT PRE-K, HOW EARLY WE'RE STARTING WITH THOSE SEVEN EFFECTIVE HABITS.

THEY'RE BANNERS THAT ARE HANGING IN THE HALLWAY AS PARENTS COME IN.

WE HAD TRAINING FOR ALL OUR CAMPUSES THAT WAS RECEIVING WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE IN YEAR TWO WITH THE BIG EMPHASIS ON SETTING WILDLY IMPORTANT GOALS.

AND SO YOU HEAR A LOT OF THAT WITH OUR STUDENTS AND WITH OUR CAMPUSES.

THEY'RE CALLED WIGS, BUT THEY ARE SETTING THEIR WILDLY IMPORTANT GOALS FOR THIS YEAR.

STUDENTS WITH THEIR READING THEIR MATH AND CAMPUSES OVERALL WITH THEIR PERCENTAGES SHOULD BE.

WE'LL CONTINUE HAVING A BIG FOCUS ON DISTRICT INCENTIVE AND CAMPUS INCENTIVES.

AS YOU REMEMBER, LAST YEAR WE HAD THE FOUNDATION THAT SPONSORED THE WINNER FOR LAST YEAR, WHICH WAS PLUM CREEK ELEMENTARY.

WE'LL CONTINUE THOSE INCENTIVES AS WELL.

WE HAVE ABOUT AN HOUR STANDING AGENDA THAT MR. DAVIDSON AND I HAVE EVERY MONTH WITH THE PRINCIPALS WILL BE REVIEWING ATTENDANCE.

WE ALSO OUR GOAL THIS YEAR IS 94% FIRST THREE DAYS OF SCHOOL AVERAGED OUT TO ABOUT 96% ATTENDANCE.

SO WE'RE GOING TO BE CONTINUING WITH THOSE INCENTIVES AND TO SEE HOW WE'RE DOING WITH THAT.

UM, ANY QUESTIONS AROUND ENROLLMENT? WHY DID WE SEE THE DIP IN 2020, 2021? IF I REMEMBER CORRECTLY, I THINK THAT WAS AT COVID THAT WE HAD THAT YEAR WITH YOU.

I WAS JUST KIDDING. KEEP ME ON MY TOES THERE, MR..

ANYTHING ELSE? I'M GOING TO HAND IT OVER THEN TO MR. ACUNA, WHERE YOU COULD ASK HIM SOME QUESTIONS ABOUT 2022.

I GOT TO RAISE THIS UP JUST A LITTLE BIT.

JUST SAYING. THIS THIS IS PROBABLY THE FUNNEST PART OF THE YEAR FOR ME IS SHOWCASING OUR OUR TEAMS, OUR OPERATION TEAMS. SO OPERATIONS FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL UPDATE.

WE WANT TO TALK ABOUT OUR TRANSPORTATION SERVICES, OUR NUTRITION SERVICE TEAMS, OUR CUSTODIAL TEAMS AND OUR MAINTENANCE TEAM FOR SURE.

SO DAY ONE OF TRANSPORTATION, THIS WAS THE SECOND CONSECUTIVE YEAR THAT ALL ROUTES WERE OPEN.

WE'RE VERY PROUD OF THAT SECOND CONSECUTIVE YEAR THAT WE ARE 100% STAFFED.

TO GIVE YOU A QUICK SNAPSHOT, WE ARE STILL SHUTTLING SOME STUDENTS FROM CAMPUS TO CAMPUS BECAUSE OF CAPACITY ISSUES.

I DO KNOW THAT WE DO HAVE SOME CHALLENGES IN OUR PICK UP AND DROP OFF TIMES, BUT WE ARE GETTING BETTER EVERY SINGLE DAY.

ONE THING THAT WE ARE SHARING WITH OUR PARENTS THAT WE TESTED LAST YEAR WAS THE SAFE STOP APP AND THE SAFE STOP APP.

WE ENCOURAGE OUR PARENTS TO DOWNLOAD THAT APP BECAUSE THAT GIVES OUR PARENTS AN OPPORTUNITY TO SEE WHAT TIME THEIR BUSSES ARE GOING TO GET HOME.

I LIKE TO TRANSITION TO NUTRITION SERVICES.

IT'S DAY ONE OF YEAR TWO SELF UP.

LAST YEAR WE WE STARTED OUR SELF OP PROGRAM WITH OUR NUTRITION SERVICES.

WHAT THAT MEANS IS WE NO LONGER USE A FOOD SERVICE MANAGEMENT COMPANY TO TAKE CARE OF OUR PROGRAM.

THIS YEAR WE'RE YEAR TWO AND WE JUST CONTINUE TO JUST DO REALLY, REALLY GOOD THINGS FOR OUR STAFF AND FOR OUR KIDS.

SOME OF OUR PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS IS JUST INVESTING BACK INTO OUR KITCHENS.

THIS YEAR YOU'LL SEE WE PAINTED ALL OF OUR KITCHENS OR IN THE PROCESS OF PAINTING ALL OF OUR KITCHENS TO GIVE IT A FRESH START.

WE HAVE A NEW LEADERSHIP ROLE, A NUTRITION SPECIALIST POSITION, AND WHEN WE TALK ABOUT THAT POSITION, WE UNLOCKED OUR POTENTIAL.

WE PROMOTED OUR CAFETERIA MANAGER FROM PLUM CREEK, ROSY OCAMPO.

SHE'S DOING AN EXCELLENT JOB.

SHE'S GOING TO BE A GEM FOR US, AND WE'RE JUST GOING TO CONTINUE TO DEVELOP HER.

WE LEARNED A LOT LAST YEAR IN OUR STUDENT FAVORITE MENU ITEMS THAT WE STARTED OFF WITH A BANG ON THAT, AND WE CONTINUE WITH UNLIMITED FRUITS AND VEGETABLES.

AND THAT'S REALLY, REALLY IMPORTANT TO US BECAUSE OUR KIDS HAVE OPPORTUNITY TO GET AS MANY APPLES AS THEY WANT, AS MANY ORANGES AS THEY WANT FOR FOR SNACKS LATER ON OR FOR OR FOR THEY CAN THROW ON THEIR BACKPACK FOR LATER ON IN THE EVENING.

AND AGAIN, ALL OUR STUDENTS ARE EATING FOR FREE AGAIN.

SO WE'RE OUR SECOND YEAR.

WE'RE A PRE K THROUGH THROUGH 12TH GRADE.

ALL OF OUR KIDS ARE EATING.

ONE THING WE DID CHANGE FROM LAST YEAR IS WE WENT FROM DOMINO'S PIZZA, FROM PIZZA HUT LAST YEAR TO DOMINO'S PIZZA THIS YEAR.

WE'VE GOT A LOT OF REALLY, REALLY GOOD FEEDBACK ON THAT AS WELL FROM ALL OF OUR KIDS.

SO WAS THAT FROM THE.

TASTING OR EVENT THE DOMINO ONE.

THAT'S RIGHT, SIR. OKAY. I VOTED FOR DOMINO.

THAT'S RIGHT. YES, SIR.

IT WORKED OUT REALLY, REALLY WELL.

DOMINOES STARTED OFF REALLY, REALLY STRONG.

WE'RE VERY, VERY PROUD OF THAT PARTNERSHIP BECAUSE IT SUPPORTS OUR COMMUNITY BY BY ORDERING THE PIZZAS FOR US, FOR OUR KIDS. IT GIVES JOBS TO OUR LOCAL COMMUNITY AND TO OUR OUR LOCAL DOMINO'S STORE HERE IN TOWN HERE IN LOCKHART. IT'S A WIN WIN FOR EVERYBODY, RIGHT? YES, SIR. ABSOLUTELY.

SO I DID WANT TO SHOW JUST A COUPLE OF PICTURES OF SOME OF THE INVESTMENTS THAT WE ARE DOING.

[00:30:03]

AS YOU CAN SEE AT THE WE DO DO WINGS FOR THE KIDS WHO LIKE WINGS, BUT WE DEFINITELY OFFSET IT WITH OUR APPLES AND CELERY AND TATER TOTS.

BUT IF YOU LOOK ON THE ON THE RIGHT, THAT'S AN AIR COOLER.

WE HAVE THOSE AIR COOLERS THAT ARE JUNIOR HIGH AND OUR HIGH SCHOOL AND AGAIN, YOU HAVE THOSE ARE CUPS OF CARROTS, CUPS OF CELERY CUPS OF ORANGES.

AND THE KIDS CAN JUST GRAB AS MUCH AS THEY WANT.

SO NEXT, I WANT TO TRANSITION TO OUR CUSTODIAL STAFF.

AND I REALLY WHEN I WAS LOOKING UP CUSTODIAL, WHEN I DO MY HOMEWORK AND CUSTODIAL, I JUST CAME TO CAME TO ME BEHIND EVERY GREAT SCHOOL IS A CARING SCHOOL CUSTODIAN.

WE HAVE A LOT OF OUR COMMUNITY MEMBERS THAT SERVE OUR SCHOOL DISTRICT IN THE CUSTODIAL CAPACITY, AND THEY'RE JUST WILLING TO HELP AND TAKE CARE OF US.

IF A PRINCIPAL NEEDS SOME ASSISTANCE, THEY'RE THERE TO HELP.

AND ARE REALLY BEHIND TEAM, BEHIND THE SCENES, OUR MAINTENANCE TEAM.

WE'RE VERY, VERY GRATEFUL FOR THEM.

AGAIN, THEY WERE THERE ON DAY ONE.

WE HAD MULTIPLE MAINTENANCE STAFF MEMBERS AT EVERY CAMPUS JUST TO MAKE SURE THAT EVERYBODY WAS SUPPORTED.

SOME OF OUR MAINTENANCE FOLKS EVEN WERE DESIGNATED TRAFFIC TRAFFIC PEOPLE JUST TO MAKE SURE THAT KIDS GOT OFF THEIR VEHICLES SAFE AND SOUND. ONE OF THE THINGS THAT A PERSON WHO I RESPECT DEARLY, FRANK RICHIE, HE SAYS, JAMES, YOU KNOW, WE'RE A FAMILY HERE.

WE LOOK OUT AND TAKE CARE OF EACH OTHER, PERIOD.

AND THAT'S 100% TRUE.

AND THAT JUST CONTINUES TO STICK TO ME WHENEVER WHENEVER WE START THINKING, OKAY, WHAT'S WHAT'S BEST FOR OUR STAFF? HERE'S A COUPLE OF SNAPSHOTS OF THEM WORKING.

AS YOU CAN SEE, THEY'RE IN A TRACTOR.

THEY'RE UP ON A LIFT.

IT JUST WAS NEVER ENDING.

AND AS YOU KNOW, WITH THE HEAT, OUR ASSES ARE JUST CONTINUOUSLY JUST HAVING TO BE WORKED ON AND WORKED ON AND WORKED ON.

AND THE NEXT PIECE I WANT TO TRANSITION TO IS OUR SCHOOL SAFETY.

SO ON AUGUST 9TH AT THE GOPAK, WE.

WE CONDUCTED A SCHOOL SAFETY MEETING FOR ALL OF OUR STAFF, BUT WE DID IN THAT IN THAT MEETING, WE INTRODUCED ALL OF OUR SRO PROGRAM, OUR CONSTABLE PROGRAM, OUR LION GUARD PROGRAMS. WE TALKED ABOUT RAPTOR ENTRY SYSTEMS. IT WAS A GREAT REFRESHER FOR OUR STAFF BECAUSE SOMETIMES YOU THINK THAT THEY THEY MAY LOOK AT A BOOK, BUT WE SHOW THEM THE BOOK.

WE WE TALKED ABOUT REUNIFICATION.

WE TALKED ABOUT RACE TRAINING, AND WE TALKED ABOUT EVERY EVERY ROOM SAFETY TOOLS THAT THEY HAVE AT THEIR DISPOSAL.

AND OUR CONTINUE OUR CONTINUE EFFORTS WITH SAFETY.

LAST YEAR I PRESENTED A QUICK SNAPSHOT OF WHAT WE'RE DOING SOFTWARE WISE FOR OUR STUDENTS, AND THAT WAS GAGGLE.

THIS YEAR WE'RE USING LIGHTSPEED SYSTEMS, AND THE REASON WHY WE'RE USING LIGHTSPEED SYSTEMS IS BECAUSE GAGGLE ONLY MONITORS THE GOOGLE SUITE. LIGHTSPEED MONITORS THE FULL GOOGLE SUITE.

ALL CHROME ACTIVITY SUCH AS GOOGLE SEARCHES, WEBSITE ACTIVITY AND YOUTUBE VIDEO SEARCHES.

GOOGLE DID NOT DO THAT.

AND THAT'S ONE OF THE BIG REASONS WHY WE MADE THAT SWITCH OVER.

I'VE HEARD ABOUT IT. YES, SIR.

IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS, ANSWER.

NO, I'VE HEARD THAT IT'S LOCKED DOWN A LOT MORE THAN IT WAS LAST YEAR.

THAT'S RIGHT, SIR. YES, SIR. IT MAKES ME VERY HAPPY.

GOOD DEAL. THANK YOU.

IT WAS A GREAT DECISION BY OUR ADMINISTRATOR TO OUR ADMINISTRATION TO TO PUT THAT RECOMMENDATION IN PLACE.

I CONTINUE WITH SAFETY AND EVERY THREE YEARS WE HAVE TO DO A FACILITY.

DISTRICT FACILITY AUDIT FOR ALL OF OUR BUILDINGS.

THAT'S THE MAINTENANCE DEPARTMENT, THE MAINTENANCE DEPARTMENT FACILITY.

THAT'S MR. THAT'S OUR CAMPUSES.

I DO WANT TO THANK JEREMIAH CHAPMAN FOR ASSISTING ME IN THAT PROCESS.

THIS SUMMER, WE'RE GOING TO EVERY CAMPUS AND WE'RE WALKING EVERY CAMPUS AND LOOKING FOR, YOU KNOW, BASICALLY THINGS THAT NEED TO BE ADDRESSED.

SOME OF THE DOCUMENTATION THAT WE DID REVIEW IS OUR EMERGENCY OPERATIONS PLANS, OUR CAMPUS IMPROVEMENT PLANS AND PREVIOUS AUDIT REPORTS.

SO THE SNAPSHOT OF OUR FINDINGS, THERE'S THERE'S A LITTLE BIT MORE.

BUT WHAT WE DID WANT TO SHARE IS THAT WE HAVE LOTS OF MAINTENANCE REQUESTS.

THAT'S ALWAYS GOING TO BE ONGOING, ESPECIALLY WITH FACILITIES THAT THAT HAVE SOME TENURE ON IT, SECURITY CAMERAS, LIGHTING, UPGRADING THE FENCING, YOU KNOW, TEACHING OUR STAFF WITH EXTENSION CORDS, CLOSET STORAGE, JUST MAKING SURE THINGS AREN'T TOO CLOSE TO THE CEILING.

SOME OF THOSE ITEMS. SO THE NEXT STEPS FOR THIS AUDIT IS THAT WE ARE GOING TO PROVIDE RECOMMENDATIONS WITH EACH PRINCIPAL AND OUR DEPARTMENT DIRECTORS.

WE'RE GOING TO CONTINUE WORKING WITH OUR MAINTENANCE DEPARTMENT FOR A FOLLOW UP ON THE WORK ORDERS.

AND THEN I'LL BE SUBMITTING THE THE TOOL AUDIT TO TEXAS STATE SAFETY CENTER AT THE END OF THIS MONTH.

[00:35:09]

DOES ANYBODY HAVE ANY QUESTIONS FOR ME? AWESOME. I'M GOING TO TRANSITION TO MISS SUSAN FAMBROUGH AND SHE'LL TAKE IT FROM HERE.

GOOD EVENING. I AM SO EXCITED TO SPEAK WITH YOU THIS EVENING ABOUT OUR STAFFING UPDATE.

WE ARE CURRENTLY 98% STAFFED DISTRICT WIDE.

TO GIVE YOU A LITTLE BIT OF AN IDEA OF WHERE WE ARE AT EACH OF THE HIGH SCHOOLS AS FAR AS VACANCIES GO, WE DO HAVE SOME LONG TERM SUBSTITUTES AT THE HIGH SCHOOL.

WE HAVE A LONG TERM SUBSTITUTE IN A MATH CLASSROOM, A SCIENCE CLASSROOM, SOME OF OUR SPECIAL EDUCATION INCLUSION CLASSROOMS. AND THEN OUR OCC CLASS DOES HAVE A SUBSTITUTE ONCE A WEEK BECAUSE THEY ONLY HAVE CLASSES FOUR DAYS A WEEK.

AT LOCKHART JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL.

WE HAVE A LONG TERM SUB IN AN LR CLASSROOM IN A MATH CLASSROOM IN TWO OF OUR SCIENCE CLASSROOMS, IN AN ESL CLASSROOM, AND THEN WE STILL HAVE A VACANCY FOR ESL AND SPECIAL ED INCLUSION.

THOSE ARE STILL POSTED ON OUR JOB LISTINGS PAGE AND WE ARE STILL CONTINUOUSLY TRYING TO RECRUIT APPLICANTS FOR EACH OF THOSE POSITIONS.

BUT THE PRINCIPALS DO HAVE PLANS TO MAKE SURE THAT THOSE SERVICES ARE STILL BEING PROVIDED AT BOTH OF OUR ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS.

ALMA BREWER STRAWN WE STILL HAVE A RESPONSE TO INTERVENTION TEACHER OPENING.

AND AT PLUM CREEK ELEMENTARY, WE HAVE TWO RESPONSE TO INTERVENTION TEACHER OPENINGS.

AND THAT WAS BECAUSE THOSE TEACHERS WERE WE FOUND A WAY TO UNLOCK THEIR POTENTIAL AND THEY WERE PROMOTED TO A LOVER LEADER POSITION AT A DISTRICT BILINGUAL DIAGNOSTICIAN POSITION.

SO THAT'S KIND OF A BRIGHT SPOT THAT WE HAVE A VACANCY BECAUSE WE WERE ABLE TO TO UNLOCK THE POTENTIAL OF SOME OF OUR STAFF.

AND ONE OF THE WAYS THAT I WANT TO SHOWCASE OUR DEPARTMENT IS WE ATTENDED 11 JOB FAIRS LAST YEAR.

AND AS YOU CAN SEE, MY FORMER PARTNER IN CRIME, CHRISTINA COURSON, AND I HAD A BALL GOING TO SOME OF THE JOB FAIRS AND TRYING TO RECRUIT CANDIDATES. WE DEFINITELY TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE UT, RGV, UT RIO GRANDE VALLEY JOB FAIR SO THAT WE CAN TRY TO RECRUIT HIGHLY QUALIFIED BILINGUAL TEACHERS.

WE ALSO HAD THREE OF OUR OWN LOCKHART ISD, LOCKHART ISD JOB FAIRS, AND THEN WE'VE JUST GONE TO A BUNCH OF DIFFERENT JOB FAIRS AND WE WILL CONTINUE TO DO THAT THIS YEAR.

I'VE ALREADY SIGNED UP FOR FIVE JOB FAIRS.

WE HAVE TO KIND OF WAIT UNTIL THOSE THINGS ARE OPEN TO REGISTER FOR, BUT I'M REALLY PROUD OF OUR TEAM FOR TRYING TO FIND WAYS TO RECRUIT MORE PEOPLE TO LOCKHART ISD.

AS FAR AS SUBSTITUTES GO, WE HAVE 15 LONG TERM SUBS THAT ARE FILLING VACANCIES FOR POSITIONS RIGHT NOW.

AS FAR AS CAMPUS ASSIGNED SUBS, THOSE ARE SUBS WHO SAY I ONLY WANT TO SUB AT THIS CAMPUS.

THEY SHOW UP EVERY DAY AT THAT CAMPUS AND THEY ARE FLEXIBLE AND GO INTO ANY CLASSROOM THAT THAT IS IN NEED OF A SUB.

AND WE HAVE 18 OF THOSE.

THERE IS ONE AT CARVER, TWO AT EACH OF THE ELEMENTARIES, THREE AT THE JUNIOR HIGH AND FOUR AT THE HIGH SCHOOL.

IN OUR SUBSTITUTE SYSTEM RIGHT NOW WE HAVE 120 SUBS.

AND IF YOU TAKE OUT THE 15 LONG TERM SUBS THAT ARE FILLING IN FOR VACANCIES AND YOU SUBTRACT THE 18 CAMPUS ASSIGNED, WE HAVE 87 REGULAR SUBSTITUTES TO CHOOSE FROM AND WE HAVE HAD FOUR THREE NEW SUB ORIENTATIONS SO FAR THIS YEAR AND WE'VE ONBOARDED 24 NEW SUBSTITUTES.

SO AS FAR AS NEXT STEPS, WE'RE JUST GOING TO CONTINUE OUR EFFORTS TO FIRST RETAIN OUR AMAZING LOCKHART ISD TEACHERS AND STAFF.

WE'RE GOING TO DO ANOTHER STAFF TAILGATE THIS YEAR LIKE WE DID LAST YEAR AT A FOOTBALL GAME IN OCTOBER.

THAT WILL HAPPEN ON OCTOBER 20TH.

WE'RE GOING TO CONTINUE CAMPUS VISITS SO THAT WE CAN CONTINUE THOSE RELATIONSHIPS THAT WE HAVE WITH THE PRINCIPALS, FINDING OUT WHAT THEIR NEEDS ARE AND MAKING SURE THAT WE FILL ANY OF THOSE OTHER VACANCIES.

AND THEN, AS YOU KNOW, WITH OUR COLLABORATIVE VISIONING STRATEGIC PLAN, NAVIGATE TO 28, WE'RE GOING TO CONTINUE TO GET FEEDBACK FROM OUR STAFF TO FIND OTHER WAYS THAT THEY FEEL LIKE WE COULD SUPPORT THEM TO RETAIN THEM HERE IN LOCKHART.

WE'RE GOING TO WE'VE ALREADY DONE ONE RETURNING SUBSTITUTE SESSION.

WE HAD 49 OF OUR RETURNING SUBS COME ON A FRIDAY AFTERNOON.

THIS BOARDROOM WAS FILLED.

WE HAD THREE NEW SUB ORIENTATIONS WITH 24 NEW SUBS ONBOARDED, AND THEN WE COMPLETELY REVAMPED OUR NEW EMPLOYEE ONBOARDING PROCESS. THIS YEAR.

LAST YEAR WAS BRAND NEW WHEN I CAME INTO THE ROLE, AND SO I AM SO GRATEFUL FOR OUR BUSINESS OFFICE AND OUR TECHNOLOGY TEAM.

WE PARTNERED TOGETHER, ALL THREE OF OUR DEPARTMENTS, AND WE CREATED A ONE STOP SHOP FOR OUR NEW EMPLOYEES.

[00:40:04]

THEY CAME IN, THEY GOT KIND OF A PRESENTATION ABOUT OUR DISTRICT VALUES, AND THEN THEY HAD KIND OF A PLACE THAT THEY COULD COME TO UNDERSTAND THEIR COMPENSATION. THEY COULD MAKE SURE THAT THEY WERE SET UP IN FRONTLINE FOR SUBS.

THEY GOT TO SPEAK WITH TECHNOLOGY, GET THEIR DEVICE, GET THEIR BADGE, MAKE SURE THEY COULD LOG INTO THEIR SOFTWARE.

SO THEY GOT SOME SWAG, A LITTLE SLING BAG AND SOME OTHER SWAG FOR LOCKHART ISD.

AND I FEEL LIKE THAT WAS A REALLY NICE WAY TO TO WELCOME SOMEONE TO LOCKHART, BUT ALSO JUST A REALLY NICE, EFFICIENT WAY TO MAKE SURE THAT THEY WERE FULLY ONBOARDED.

WE'RE GOING TO CONTINUE OUR REGULARLY SCHEDULED SUBSTITUTE ORIENTATIONS.

AS YOU CAN SEE, WE HAVE FOUR MORE AND WE'RE GOING TO DO THOSE ONCE A WEEK AND WE'RE GOING TO CONTINUE TO DO THAT AS LONG AS WE CAN TO MAKE SURE WE RECRUIT SUBSTITUTES.

AND THEN WE WILL CONTINUE TO ATTEND JOB FAIRS AND HOST OUR LOCKHART ISD JOB FAIRS AS WELL TO RECRUIT NEW STAFF.

DO YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS? THANK YOU.

[Review Resolution Regarding Board Review of Board Policy CDA (local) - OTHER REVENUES - INVESTMENT]

OKAY, WE'LL MOVE ON TO ITEM EIGHT B.

REVIEW RESOLUTION REGARDING BOARD REVIEW OR BOARD POLICY CDA LOCAL.

OTHER REVENUES, INVESTMENTS.

MS. WISER. GOOD EVENING.

ANNUALLY, WE ARE REQUIRED TO REVIEW OUR INVESTMENT POLICY AND THEN APPROVE THAT INVESTMENT POLICY.

THERE ARE NO CHANGES TO THE INVESTMENT POLICY.

HOWEVER, I DID ATTACH IT SO THAT YOU CAN REVIEW IT AND THEN NEXT MONTH WE WILL TAKE IT TO APPROVE IT.

BUT WE ARE REQUIRED TO APPROVE IT EVERY YEAR, EVEN IF THERE ARE NO CHANGES.

SO BOARD.

DUDE, DO YOU WANT TO GO OVER IT OR THAT WE'RE FINE? THAT REALLY THERE ARE NO CHANGES THIS YEAR.

THE INVESTMENT POLICY IS JUST THERE TO TO MAKE SURE THAT WE'RE FOLLOWING THE LAWS AS FAR AS OUR ABILITIES TO INVEST THE FUNDS.

OKAY. WELL, THANK YOU, MISS WISER.

[Public Information Act (PIA) Update]

ITEM EIGHT, PUBLIC INFORMATION ACT OR IUC PUBLIC INFORMATION ACT PIA UPDATE.

OKAY. SO WHAT THIS IS, IS WE HAVE WE HAVE AN UPDATE THIS YEAR FOLLOWING THE LEGISLATIVE SESSION ABOUT THE PUBLIC INFORMATION ACT.

SO CURRENTLY, WHEN A PUBLIC INFORMATION ACT COMES IN FROM THE OUTSIDE AND SOMEONE REQUESTS INFORMATION, WE HAVE TEN BUSINESS DAYS TO RESPOND TO THAT TO THAT REQUEST.

THEY REDEFINE WHAT A NON BUSINESS DAY IS IN THAT A BUSINESS DAY IS A NON BUSINESS DAY IS ONLY A SATURDAY, A SUNDAY, A FEDERAL HOLIDAY OR A STATE HOLIDAY.

SO WE HAVE A LOT OF HOLIDAYS IN THERE THAT DON'T FALL IN LINE WITH THAT.

AND SO WHAT THE LAW ALLOWS, THOUGH, WHEN THEY REDEFINE WHAT A BUSINESS DAY WAS, IS THAT IT DOES ALLOW A SCHOOL DISTRICT TO HAVE TEN NON BUSINESS DAYS EACH CALENDAR YEAR THAT WE CAN USE WHEN WE'RE CLOSED FOR LENGTHY PERIODS OF TIME.

SO IF SOMEONE WERE TO PUT WITH THE NEW LAW, IF SOMEONE WERE TO PUT A REQUEST IN THE DAY AFTER WE LEAVE FOR THE CHRISTMAS BREAK, WE WOULD BE OUT OF COMPLIANCE BECAUSE WE'D BE CLOSED FOR THOSE TEN DAYS.

SO THAT'S WHAT THIS LAW ALLOWS US TO DO.

SO. THIS SHOWCASES THE RECOMMENDATION FOR THE 2023 CALENDAR YEAR.

WE'RE ALLOWED TO HAVE TEN DAYS PER CALENDAR YEAR FOR 2023 AND 2024.

WE WENT AHEAD AND DID BOTH YEARS SINCE WE HAVE THAT SECOND SEMESTER COMING UP AND THAT WAY WE CAN ALLOW THOSE DAYS TO BE IN THERE. SO THIS IS JUST FOR YOUR REVIEW RIGHT NOW.

AND THEN NEXT NEXT MONTH, WE'LL BRING THOSE DAYS FOR FOR YOUR APPROVAL.

ANY QUESTIONS? BOARD.

YOU JUST HAVE TO KEEP SOME. ADMIN.

NO, SIR. THESE THESE DAYS, ESSENTIALLY WE CAN COUNT AS A NON-BUSINESS DAY SO THAT WHEN WE RETURN FROM CHRISTMAS BREAK, THE CLOCK WASN'T TICKING.

OKAY. OKAY.

THANK YOU FOR CLARIFYING. I SHOULD HAVE BETTER.

I SHOULD HAVE BETTER EXPLAINED.

THAT IS, IT ALLOWS US TO HAVE THE DAYS TO PUT IN THERE WHEN WE'RE CLOSED FOR LONG PERIODS OF TIME SO THAT WE DON'T FIND OURSELVES NOT RESPONDING IN A IN A LAWFULLY AMOUNT OF TIME.

SO LIKE. OVER THE SPRING BREAK IN 2020 FOR THEIR.

[00:45:02]

YES, WE PUT TWO DAYS IN THERE SO THAT THOSE FIVE DAYS, IF SOMETHING FALLS IN, WE'RE ABLE JUST TO ALLOW US SOME EXTRA DAYS BECAUSE WE'RE CLOSED SINCE WE'RE CLOSED.

SO WE SPREAD THE DAYS OUT ACCORDING TO WHAT THE FEDERAL HOLIDAYS ARE.

AND WE ACTUALLY SPOKE WITH OUR ATTORNEYS JUST THINKING ABOUT WHICH DAYS WOULD BE THE BEST TO SET IT UP SO THAT WE ARE ABLE TO PROVIDE INFORMATION.

BECAUSE IF WE'RE CLOSED AND WE'RE NOT ABLE TO GATHER INFORMATION.

UH. AND WE WOULD.

WE WOULD FIND OURSELVES IN A BIND.

OKAY. YEAH, THAT MAKES SENSE.

OKAY. THANK YOU, MISS WEISER.

THANK YOU. ITEM EIGHT D RESILIENT SCHOOL SUPPORT PROGRAM.

[Resilient Schools Support Program (RSSP) Report]

RSSP REPORT.

MR. DAVIDSON.

SO GOOD EVENING BOARD PRESIDENT WRIGHT, MEMBERS OF THE BOARD, SUPERINTENDENT ESTRADA.

I'M HERE TO GIVE THE ANNUAL REPORT ON RESILIENT SCHOOL SUPPORT PROGRAM, ALSO KNOWN AS RSSP.

AN OVERVIEW. THIS IS JUST A REMINDER THAT THE RSSP IS A TEA INITIATIVE THAT IS WAS CREATED TO SUPPORT LEARNING LOSS AS WELL AS ACCELERATE LEARNING. ONE OF THE MAIN FOCUSES FOR RSSP IS TO PROVIDE WHAT'S KNOWN AS A TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE PROVIDER, TAP OR TAP.

AND THIS IS THE LAST YEAR OF THE RSSP.

SO FOR THIS COMING SCHOOL YEAR, THE RSSP TEAM IS MADE UP OF MS..

SEIDEL, MR. MCBRIDE, MS..

NIXON AND CHRISTINA VASQUEZ.

AND I'LL EXPLAIN WHY.

YOU SEE THE JUNIOR HIGH LEADERSHIP UP HERE ON THE RSP.

THE PROCESS FOR RSSP CONSISTS OF A MONTHLY CHECK IN AND THESE MONTHLY CHECK INS.

WE REVIEW THE WILDLY IMPORTANT GOAL, ALSO KNOWN AS A WIG, AND I'LL GET TO THAT IN A BIT.

WE DO A REVIEW OF DATA.

ANY NEEDED CAMPUS SUPPORT? THE DISCUSSION HAPPENS WITH THE TAP AND THE CAMPUS.

WE UPDATE OUR PROGRESS TOWARDS THOSE GOALS.

AND THEN IN ADDITION TO THAT, WE HAVE MISS SEIDEL AND I HAVE A QUARTERLY MEETING WITH THE TEXAS EDUCATION AGENCY.

SO THEY HAVE A LIAISON THAT CHECKS IN ON HOW THE TAP IS DOING AND HOW THEY ARE PROVIDING SUPPORT TO THE DISTRICT.

THE OTHER PART OF THE PROCESS IS A CYCLE REVIEW.

IT'S BROKEN INTO TWO CYCLES.

CYCLE ONE IS BASICALLY THE FIRST SEMESTER.

CYCLE TWO IS THE SECOND SEMESTER.

EACH OF THOSE IS A PROCESS OF CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT.

SO THOSE MONTHLY MEETINGS, WE JUST TALKED THROUGH THE DATA IN THESE CYCLES AND THEN WHAT EACH OF THOSE CYCLES HAS A MID CYCLE STEP BACK.

SO SOMEWHERE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE SEMESTER WE CHANGED OUR ONE 1.5 HOUR MEETING TO TWO, SOMETIMES 2.5 HOURS WHERE WE JUST REVIEW ALL THE DATA AND SEE IF THAT THERE, IF THERE HAVE TO BE ANY PIVOTS IN THE THE PROCESS, THE GOALS, ANY OF THE SUPPORT THAT THE TAP IS PROVIDING THE CAMPUS OR THE DISTRICT.

THE PRIORITIES AND GOALS FOR THIS COMING YEAR.

OUR PRIORITY AREA IS CRITICAL WRITING AND TO OVER THE LAST FEW YOU KNOW, EVERY YEAR THEY THEY MAKE THEIR OWN ADJUSTMENTS AT THE END OF THE YEAR FOR THIS PROCESS.

SO AT THE END OF LAST SEMESTER AND OVER THE SUMMER AND TALKING WITH RSSP AS WELL AS OUR TEA LIAISON, THERE'S BEEN THIS FOCUS ON SHRINKING THE CHANGE. SO YEARS AGO IT WAS HOW TO INCORPORATE THE MANY SYSTEMS AND DIFFERENT PROTOCOLS WE HAD IN THE DISTRICT AND HOW THEY COULD EMBED EACH OF THOSE OR ACTUALLY MAKE THEM CONNECT SO THAT THE DISTRICT COULD WORK BETTER AND IT COULD BE ACROSS DIFFERENT CAMPUSES AND OUR PROCESSES.

LAST YEAR WE SHRANK THE CHANGE TO PLCS AND THE PROCESS LANDED AT THE JUNIOR HIGH AND THE HIGH SCHOOL.

TEA WANTED US TO EVEN HAVE A CLOSER FOCUS WITH A SPECIFIC CAMPUS.

SO AFTER CONVERSATIONS WITH BOTH WITH BOTH THE JUNIOR HIGH AND THE HIGH SCHOOL, WITH THE LEADERSHIP THERE, WITH TEA AND OUR OUR TAP PROVIDERS, WE SETTLED ON THE JUNIOR HIGH AND CRITICAL WRITING. SO AS YOU CAN SEE THERE, THE ACCELERATION STRATEGY IS CONCENTRATING ON THE INSTRUCTIONAL TENANT OF CRITICAL WRITING.

IT'LL BE AN EALR SIX, SEVENTH AND EIGHTH IS WHERE WE WILL FOCUS ON DATA.

BUT AS YOU WILL SEE THAT THE CRITICAL WRITING IS ACTUALLY GOING TO BE ACROSS THE CAMPUS.

SO WHAT YOU HAVE HERE IS CYCLE ONE GOALS.

YOU WILL SEE THAT OUR WILDLY IMPORTANT GOAL THAT I MENTIONED EARLIER, THE WIG IS TO TRY TO GET 50% OF ALL SIX, SEVENTH AND EIGHTH GRADERS.

SO IT'S IT'S A JUMP OF ROUGHLY 25% IN EACH GRADE LEVEL TO GET A SIX OR HIGHER IN THE CONSTRUCTED RESPONSE.

SO THE HIGHEST SCORE THAT YOU CAN GET IS A TEN.

THERE'S IT'S REALLY THE HIGHEST SCORE YOU CAN GET AS A FIVE, BUT THERE ARE TWO SCORES.

SO THE TOTAL IS TEN.

IN A PRELIMINARY REVIEW OF THE WRITING PROMPTS FROM THE JUNIOR HIGH, WE NOTICED THAT WE ARE ON THE THE BOTTOM SIDE OF THE THE BELL CURVE.

[00:50:04]

SO WE'RE LOOKING AT THIS WILDLY IMPORTANT GOAL AS A WAY TO NOT ONLY INCREASE CRITICAL WRITING AND THE SCORING FOR THE JUNIOR HIGH, BUT AN OVERALL A RATING BY DOING SO.

YOU HAVE THE GOALS HERE, BUT YOU CAN SEE THE EMBEDDED LEAD MEASURES THAT GO FROM WHAT WE WANT FROM PROFESSIONAL LEARNING FROM TEACHERS TO THE IMPLEMENTATION OF CRITICAL WRITING, WHICH WILL BE MONITORED BY OBSERVATIONS AND THEN PROVIDING FEEDBACK.

SO LOOKING AT WHEN THE WHEN THE LEADERSHIP GOES IN AND OBSERVES CLASSROOMS, THAT WE'RE ACTUALLY SEEING THAT CRITICAL WRITING ACROSS THE BOARD.

AND THEN A 30% INCREASE IN THE NUMBER OF KIDS WHO GET MEETS ON CBA ONE TO CBA TWO.

THE MILESTONES THAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR, THE ONES THAT WE WANT TO SHOWCASE.

AND FOR THIS CYCLE OF RSP IS HAVING PROFESSIONAL LEARNING ON CRITICAL WRITING.

AND THAT HAS ALREADY HAPPENED AT THE JUNIOR HIGH.

THEY'VE HAD TWO SESSIONS ON.

THEY'VE HAD TWO SESSIONS OF PROFESSIONAL LEARNING ON CRITICAL WRITING.

SO THEY HAVE MET AND THEY HAVE FORMED AND DISCUSSED 5 OR 6 STRATEGIES THAT EACH TEACHER ON THE CAMPUS CAN USE TO EMBED CRITICAL WRITING.

SO NO MATTER WHAT YOU TEACH AT THE JUNIOR HIGH, THERE IS A STRATEGY FOR YOU WITHIN YOUR CLASS IN ORDER TO GET WRITING DONE AT LEAST, AT LEAST ONCE A WEEK.

THE GOAL IS 2 OR 3 TIMES A WEEK, BUT EVERY TEACHER ON THAT CAMPUS IS EXPECTED TO DO ONE OF THOSE SIX STRATEGIES ON CRITICAL WRITING.

SO WE'VE UPDATED THE WALKTHROUGH FORM TO INCLUDE WRITING IN THE LOOK FORMS. THE FEEDBACK THAT THE ADMINISTRATION IS GOING TO PROVIDE IS GOING TO PROVIDE FEEDBACK ON THE WRITING.

THERE'S GOING TO BE OBSERVATION AND COACHING FROM THE TAP.

THAT'S THAT INSIDE EDUCATION THAT IS GOING TO BE FACE TO FACE AT THE CAMPUS, WHICH WILL BE INCREASED FOR THE UPCOMING YEAR.

AND THEN WE'RE GOING TO ANALYZE THE DATA TO MAKE SURE THAT DURING THAT MID-CYCLE MID-CYCLE STEP BACK, IF WE HAVE TO MAKE CHANGES OR NOT, IF WE'RE NOT SEEING WHAT WE NEED AT THE JUNIOR HIGH.

WE'VE ALIGNED THESE INITIATIVES TO DIFFERENT THINGS IN THE DISTRICT.

SO YOU HEARD ME MENTION EARLIER ABOUT THE CRITICAL WRITING IS AN INSTRUCTIONAL TENET IN OUR DISTRICT.

IT'S SOMETHING THAT'S EMBEDDED INTO THE STAR 2.0.

IT'S WE'RE GOING TO CONNECT IT TO THE SHARED LEADERSHIP MODEL BY ENSURING THAT THE LEADERSHIP TEAMS HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO PROVIDE THAT INFORMATION TO THE TEACHERS SO THAT THEY CAN GROW. THEY'LL THEY'LL BE CONTINUED SMALL GROUP PLAYBOOKS AT THE AT THE JUNIOR HIGH.

WE'LL DO DATA DISAGGREGATION AS PART OF THAT MONTHLY MEETING THAT WE HAVE WITH THE RSP GROUP.

AND THEN THERE'S PROFESSIONAL LEARNING COMMUNITIES AND MAKING SURE THAT THE PLCS ARE EMBEDDING IT INTO THEIR LESSON PLANS.

AND THAT CRITICAL WRITING IS DISCUSSED EVERY TIME THEY MEET, NOT ONLY IN ELAR BUT IN THE OTHER SUBJECTS AS WELL.

SO THE JUNIOR HIGH IS A TARGETED CAMPUS, BUT EVERY CAMPUS ACTUALLY IMPLEMENTS THOSE KIND OF STRATEGIES? THIS IS FOR THE JUNIOR HIGH.

SO OTHER CAMPUSES DO HAVE EMBEDDED STRATEGIES FOR CRITICAL WRITING, BUT THOSE SIX THAT I'M TALKING ABOUT ARE THOSE THAT THE JUNIOR HIGH CAME UP WITH AND PRESENTED PROFESSIONAL LEARNING AT THE JUNIOR HIGH. BUT YOU DO FIND OTHER STRATEGIES ACROSS EVERY CAMPUS FOR CRITICAL WRITING.

YOU SAID THIS IS THE THIRD YEAR, THIRD AND FINAL YEAR.

IS THERE A PLAN TO.

FIGURE OUT A WAY TO CONTINUE THIS OR ARE WE THINKING ABOUT CONTINUING IT? WHAT'S THE PLAN? THE CONTINUATION WILL HAPPEN WITHOUT RSP.

THE GOAL OF RSP IS TO EMBED THE WORK SO THAT THE CAMPUSES CAN CONTINUE ON.

SO WE'RE SPENDING THIS YEAR PRACTICING A STRATEGY AROUND CRITICAL WRITING THAT WILL WE WANT TO SEE IF IT'S FRUITFUL TO STAY AT THE JUNIOR HIGH AND THEN CARRY ON THE STRATEGIES NOT NECESSARILY MIRROR, BUT CARRY THOSE STRATEGIES ON TO OTHER CAMPUSES.

AND THAT'LL BE ONE OF YOUR TASKS TO MAKE SURE THAT'S CONTINUING.

YES, SIR. WAS THERE SOME KIND OF FUNDING INVOLVED WITH THIS FROM TIA? YEAH. SO THERE WAS FUNDING AROUND THIS.

IT'S HOW OUR DATA FILE DATA FLOW IS FUNDED AND THERE'S SOME ADDITIONAL FUNDING THAT CAME WITH IT.

IT WAS AT NO COST TO THE DISTRICT.

ANY OTHER QUESTION BOARD? NO. OKAY.

THANK YOU, MR. DAVISON. THANK YOU.

[Consider and/or Approve Guaranteed Maximum Price Amendment for Lockhart High School Additions and Renovations]

WE MOVE ON TO ITEM NINE, COMMUNICATION ACTION, A, CONSIDER AND OR APPROVED GUARANTEED MAXIMUM PRICE AMENDMENT FOR LOCKHART HIGH SCHOOL ADDITIONS AND RENOVATIONS. MISTER CHAPMAN.

JUST LIKE TO POINT OUT FOR FOR THE BOARD AND FOR THE PUBLIC, WE WERE DISCUSSING A COUPLE OF DIFFERENT OPTIONS, YOU KNOW, IN SITUATIONS THAT WE WERE ABLE TO AFFORD EXPANDING THE CAFETERIA.

WE HAD A COUPLE OF PLANS THERE.

ONE WAS IS WITHIN THE BASE PRICE AND THEN THERE WAS A ALTERNATE TO ACTUALLY EXPAND THE CAFETERIA AND GO OUT TOWARDS THAT SIDEWALK.

AND THEN THE FINE ARTS EXPANSION AS WELL.

BOTH OF THOSE ARE INCLUDED IN IN THESE ESTIMATES.

WE WILL NOW MOVE TO ITEM NINE BE CONSIDERED AND OR APPROVED.

CALDWELL COUNTY APPRAISAL DISTRICT BOARD OF DIRECTORS NOMINEES.

SO DOES ANYBODY HAVE ANYBODY THEY WANT TO NOMINATE? I WANT TO NOMINATE ALFREDO MUNOZ.

HE SERVED BEFORE, AND I THINK PEOPLE HAVE SHARED WITH ME THAT HE HAS AN INTEREST TO CONTINUE TO SERVE ON THE APPRAISAL BOARD.

LISA GUYTON. LISA GUYTON KNOW WE'VE DONE.

THIS. LISA'S DONE. YEAH.

SO WE HAVE ALFREDO MUNOZ.

ANYBODY ELSE WHO WAS THE LADY? THE LADY THAT EMAILED US WAS KAITLYN CAB CAB.

SO HE JUST TOLD YOU? K LINE.

KB IS THE ONE THAT EMAILED ME AND I'M OKAY WITH HER.

EMAILED ME AS WELL. YEAH, I GUESS I DIDN'T GET OKAY WITH ADDING HER NAME TO THE LIST.

SO HOW MANY DO WE GET TO NOMINATE? OH, OKAY. OKAY. YEAH, WE CAN ADD HER.

I'M OKAY WITH ADDING WITH ALFREDO MUNOZ.

AND WHAT WAS THE NAME? KAITLYN.

KAITLYN SPELL IT.

SO YOU DO YOU. OKAY.

SO WE HAVE. AFRAID PHOTO WOULD BE GOOD.

HOUSE. COMMODORE PULLIAM.

I DON'T THINK THAT HE'S FEELING VERY WELL.

FEELING BETTER NOW AFTER THAT.

I USED TO LIKE THOSE MEETINGS.

ALL THOSE IN FAVOR SAY AYE? AYE. ALL THOSE OPPOSED.

PASSES 7 TO 0.

OKAY, WE'LL MOVE ON TO BOARD AND STAFF COMMENTS.

[BOARD AND STAFF COMMENTS - ITEMS OF COMMUNITY INTEREST*]

ITEM OF COMMUNITY INTEREST NUMBER TEN.

SO, MS..

PULLIAM, I JUST WANT TO SAY THANK YOU TO ALL OF THE PEOPLE THAT WE RECOGNIZE TONIGHT FOR THE DONATION OF THE SCHOOL SUPPLIES.

I THINK IT'S AMAZING TO SEE OUR COMMUNITY COME TOGETHER AND JUST REALLY SUPPORT THE CHILDREN.

SO THAT'S IT MAKES MY HEART VERY WARM TO SEE ALL THAT.

AND THEN ALSO JUST WANT TO SAY GOOD LUCK TO EVERYBODY THAT IS STARTING TO COMPETE IN ALL THE VARIOUS DIFFERENT SPORTS AND BANDS AND COLOR GUARD AND LIONETTES AND AND ALL OF THE ALL OF THE THINGS.

IT'S EXTREMELY HOT OUTSIDE AND THEY PUT IN A TON, A TON OF WORK.

AND I JUST WANT TO GIVE THEM KUDOS BECAUSE.

THEY'VE PRACTICED ALL SUMMER FOR THIS.

SO NOW IS THEIR TIME.

AND THEN LASTLY, JUST REMINDING EVERYBODY THAT THERE IS THE COMMUNITY HOMECOMING PEP RALLY ON WEDNESDAY ON THE SQUARE.

[01:00:06]

IT'LL BE A GREAT TIME.

YES, I AGREE WITH THE HOT TUB DOCTOR SACHSE.

OKAY. WELL, I ALSO KIND OF DITTO WHAT MS..

PULLIAM SAID. AND I ALSO WANT TO SAY THAT THANK YOU FOR ALL OF YOU THAT WERE RESPONSIBLE FOR A SMOOTH FIRST DAY.

IT'S NICE TO SEE THAT.

WELL, THE KIDS ARE BACK THAT THAT EVERYBODY'S BACK AND THAT EVERYTHING IS RUNNING SMOOTHLY.

AND THANK YOU FOR ALL EVERYONE THAT CONTRIBUTED TO MAKING THAT HAPPEN.

MR.. BURNETT GOOD.

RAYOS. AGAIN, I JUST WANT TO SAY IT'S GREAT TO SEE HOW THE COMMUNITY COMES TOGETHER FOR OUR STUDENTS SCHOOL SUPPLIES, BACKPACKS AND SO FORTH, MONETARY DONATION.

SO THAT'S GREAT. UM, ALSO, MR. ACUNA, THANK YOU FOR HELPING OUR TRANSPORTATION GET FULLY STAFFED.

SO IT'S GREAT TO SEE OUR TRANSPORTATION, YOU KNOW, TRANSPORT OUR KIDS.

SO THAT'S GOOD. AND ALSO OUR KIDS GET TO EAT FREE AS WELL.

SO MY FIVE YEAR OLD LOVES THE DOMINO'S, BY THE WAY.

SO IT'S KID APPROVED KINDERGARTEN APPROVAL.

SO AGAIN, PEP RALLY ON WEDNESDAY.

SO GO LOCKHART. GO LIONS.

THAT'S IT. MR. LOCKHART.

YES. FIRST OF ALL, I'M EXCITED ABOUT THE TABBY PROGRAM.

WE'RE NOT ONLY GETTING TO THE NATIONAL LEVEL, BUT WE'RE, YOU KNOW, WE'RE DOING WELL THERE.

WE'RE WINNING. SO THAT'S THAT'S A GREAT THING FOR THAT PROGRAM.

THE LONE STAR DEGREE.

I BELIEVE WE'VE HAD ONE BEFORE.

I THINK LAST YEAR THAT'S A STATE LEVEL THING AND THAT'S A THAT'S A BIG DEAL IN THE FFA.

SO I'M PROUD OF THAT.

LIKE RENE SAID, ALL THE PEOPLE THAT GAVE SCHOOL SUPPLIES, IT TRULY DOES TAKE A VILLAGE AND IT SHOWS THAT MORE AND MORE PEOPLE ARE COMING FORWARD AND SAYING, YES, I WILL HELP.

AND THAT'S THAT'S A BIG DEAL.

THAT TELLS YOU WHAT KIND OF COMMUNITY WE HAVE IN LOCKHART.

AND THAT'S WHY. ALL OF YOU GUYS WANT TO BE HERE.

SO THAT'S THAT'S PRETTY MUCH IT.

I REALLY DID ENJOY THE MIX AT THE CONVOCATION, TOO.

THEY WERE ENTERTAINING.

MR. GUYTON YEAH.

I'D JUST LIKE TO ECHO WHAT EVERYONE ELSE HAS SAID.

I THINK THE SCHOOL YEAR IS OFF TO A GREAT START.

FROM A PARENT'S PERSPECTIVE, IT LOOKS FLAWLESS.

SO I THINK THAT'S REALLY IMPORTANT TO NOTE.

I'M SURE THERE'S A LOT OF STUFF THAT GOES ON BEHIND THE SCENES, BUT THERE WERE SEVERAL CHILDREN CRYING AT THE VERY BEGINNING.

BUT THEY'RE ADJUSTING.

BUT, YOU KNOW, IT JUST IT REALLY LOOKS FLAWLESS AND SEAMLESS.

AND SO I DEFINITELY APPRECIATE THAT AS A PARENT.

OKAY. I WOULD LIKE TO POINT OUT AND YOU PROBABLY SEEN KORINE HAS SENT OUT A NUMBER OF APPOINTMENTS REGARDING THE UPCOMING COMMUNITY MEETINGS WITH THE ABOUT THE THAT BE HOSTED BY MR. ESTRADA. IT WOULD BE NICE IF THAT WE AT LEAST HAD ONE BOARD MEMBER AT EVERY ONE OF THESE MEETINGS.

COUPLE WOULD BE FINE.

SO IF YOU HAVE A DATE YOU WANT TO MAKE, MAYBE CONTACT KORINE SO SHE CAN LET US ALL KNOW AND WE'LL TRY TO HAVE AS MUCH SUPPORT THERE AS WE CAN.

OKAY. MR. ESTRADA? YES, A FEW THINGS.

ONE, I WANT TO THANK EVERYONE IN THE COMMUNITY WHO OVER THE LAST THREE WEEKS CAME OUT AND PRAYED AT OUR SCHOOLS, PRAYED FOR OUR SCHOOLS, PRAYED FOR OUR TEACHERS, OUR KIDS.

EXTREMELY THANKFUL FOR EVERYONE WHO MADE TIME TO DO THAT ON ON THOSE SUNDAY EVENINGS AND ALSO ENCOURAGE EVERYONE TO CONTINUE TO DO THAT.

RIGHT. IT'S YOU KNOW, WHEN YOU'RE DRIVING BY A CAMPUS AND YOU STOP AT A STOP SIGN, I DON'T THINK THAT WE CAN EVER HAVE ENOUGH PRAYER FOR OUR SCHOOLS.

SO I WANT TO CONTINUE TO ENCOURAGE OUR COMMUNITY TO DO THAT.

I WANT TO THANK OUR STAFF.

MR. GUYTON, AS YOU MENTIONED, YOU KNOW, THAT SEAMLESSNESS DOES NOT HAPPEN BY CHANCE.

YOU KNOW, WE HAVE A LOT OF HARD WORKING STAFF ON OUR CAMPUSES AT CENTRAL OFFICE ENSURING THAT THOSE THINGS HAPPEN.

SO VERY THANKFUL FOR EVERY JOB CATEGORY ACROSS THE DISTRICT, FOR EVERYTHING THAT EVERYONE DID TO ENSURE WE HAD A SMOOTH START OF THE SCHOOL YEAR.

JUST VERY PROUD OF EVERYONE'S WORK.

AND THEN LASTLY, I WANT TO RECOGNIZE MR. CHAPMAN FOR, YOU KNOW, THE THE BOND OVERSIGHT IS AN INCREDIBLY IMPORTANT JOB FOR OUR COMMUNITY TO ENSURE THAT THE TAX DOLLARS THAT OUR COMMUNITY HAS PUT THEIR TRUST IN US WITH IS UTILIZED WISELY.

AND I THINK TONIGHT, YOU KNOW, WHEN WE GO FROM PLANNING THESE PROJECTS TO NOW, WE ACTUALLY HAVE CONFIRMED NUMBERS AND WE'RE, YOU KNOW, $15,000 OFF A MULTI-MILLION DOLLAR PROJECT.

I THINK THAT THAT DOESN'T HAPPEN BY CHANCE.

THAT NUMBER WOULD HAVE BEEN A LOT LARGER IF NOT FOR HIS ADVOCACY FOR THE SCHOOL DISTRICT AND HOLDING OUR OUR PARTNERS ACCOUNTABLE FOR THEIR NUMBERS.

AND I THINK THAT'S SHOULD BE CELEBRATED AS WELL.

SO THANK YOU, SIR, FOR THAT HARD WORK.

ANYTHING ELSE? OKAY.

MR. GUYTON, WOULD YOU CLOSE IT OUT TONIGHT? DEAR GOD, WE THANK YOU FOR THIS DAY.

AND WE THANK YOU FOR THIS TIME THAT WE CAN COME TOGETHER TO DO THE BUSINESS OF THE DISTRICT.

GOD, WE ASK YOUR BLESSINGS ON ANOTHER GREAT SCHOOL YEAR.

NOT ONLY FOR LOCKHART ISD, BUT FOR ALL SCHOOL SYSTEMS AND A VERY SAFE YEAR AS WELL.

[01:05:05]

IT'S IN YOUR SON JESUS NAME WE PRAY.

AMEN. OKAY.

IT IS 8:10 AND THIS MEETING IS ADJOURNED.
