[INAUDIBLE] WE'RE GONNA HAVE ONE SPEAKER.
[00:30:02]
PUBLIC COMMENT. OH, OKAY.[Public Comment]
WE WILL NOW MOVE ON TO ITEM 5.PUBLIC COMMENTS. WE DO HAVE ONE SPEAKER WHO WISHES TO SPEAK TONIGHT.
WILL YOU YOU MAY GO TO THE PODIUM AND PRESENT YOUR NAME AND ADDRESS, PLEASE.
MARY AYZENBERG, 1021 SPRUCE LOCKHART MS. AYZENBERG. YOU HAVE FIVE MINUTES.
OUR SECRETARY, TOM GUYTON, WILL BE THE OFFICIAL TIMEKEEPER.
OKAY. HE'LL LET YOU KNOW. IT WON'T BE THAT LONG.
OKAY. THANK YOU. OKAY, SO YOU KNOW THAT I'M A RETIRED TEACHER AND SUB IN THIS DISTRICT AND MR. ESTRADA AND THE BOARD PROJECT GRADUATIONS.
GOAL OF PROVIDING A SAFE, ALCOHOL FREE, ADULT SUPERVISED POST GRADUATION PARTY IS COMMENDABLE.
IT'S WONDERFUL. MY HUSBAND AND I HELPED RAISE FUNDS FOR THE PROJECT GRADUATION PARTIES MY CHILDREN ATTENDED HERE IN '05 AND '08, SO I'M GLAD TO SEE THAT IT'S STILL GOING ON.
HOWEVER, WE WERE BOTH SHOCKED AND SADDENED TO SEE THAT PROJECT GRADUATION 2024 IS RAISING FUNDS BY RAFFLING GUNS, AND I JUST FOUND OUT THAT THIS IS NOT THE ONLY BOOSTER CLUB DOING THAT HERE.
HOW MANY CHILDREN ACROSS OUR COUNTRY WILL NOT BE GRADUATING THIS YEAR DUE TO GUN VIOLENCE? HOW MANY FAMILIES WILL BE GRIEVING INSTEAD OF CELEBRATING DUE TO GUN VIOLENCE? THE PICTURE I SAW SHOWED ASSAULT RIFLES AMONG THE WEAPONS BEING RAFFLED.
SO LOCKHART ISD LOCKHART HIGH SCHOOL PARENTS ARE OKAY WITH THIS.
THERE HAVE BEEN 119 MASS SHOOTINGS THIS YEAR, ACCORDING TO THE GUN VIOLENCE ARCHIVE AND JUST ANOTHER COUPLE OF FACTS, MORE THAN 700 CHILDREN DIE BY GUN SUICIDE EACH YEAR, MOST OFTEN USING GUNS BELONGING TO A FAMILY MEMBER.
350 CHILDREN UNDER THE AGE OF 18 UNINTENTIONALLY SHOOT THEMSELVES OR SOMEONE ELSE EACH YEAR.
A FOURTH GRADE TEACHER WHO HAD BEEN WOUNDED AND A FOURTH GRADE STUDENT FROM ROBB SPOKE.
THERE WERE FEW DRY EYES IN THE AUDIENCE.
THIS PAST SATURDAY WAS THE 25TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE COLUMBINE SHOOTING.
I REMEMBER HOW SHOCKED WE TEACHERS WERE.
LITTLE DID WE KNOW HOW MUCH THIS WOULD CHANGE EDUCATION.
SADLY, TEXAS HAS FEW LAWS ON SAFE STORAGE OF WEAPONS.
WHAT IS THE GUARANTEE THAT THESE WEAPONS WILL NOT GET IN THE HANDS OF A YOUNG PERSON, OR A MENTALLY UNSTABLE PERSON, OR IN A HOME THAT DOES NOT PRACTICE SAFE STORAGE? RIGHT NOW, THERE IS VERY LITTLE CONTROL OVER ONLINE GUN SALES.
EACH YEAR, THE CITY READS A PROCLAMATION ABOUT DOMESTIC VIOLENCE PREVENTION WEEK.
GUNS, ESPECIALLY HANDGUNS AND DOMESTIC VIOLENCE, SADLY GO HAND IN HAND.
ALTHOUGH PROJECT GRADUATION MAY NOT BE AN OFFICIAL SCHOOL SPONSORED EVENT, THE DISTRICT ALLOWS ANNOUNCEMENTS, I'M SURE, AND YOU'RE GETTING READY TO GIVE THEM A BIG DONATION THAT SEEMS TO MAKE THE DISTRICT COMPLICIT.
WHEN I SHARED THE GUN RAFFLE INFORMATION WITH COMMUNITY MEMBERS, PEOPLE I KNEW.
ON ONE HAND, THE DISTRICT BY LAW POST SIGNS AGAINST WEAPONS ON CAMPUS, CONDUCTS SAFETY DRILLS ABOUT ACTIVE SHOOTERS, CALLS THE POLICE IF A WEAPON IS THOUGHT TO BE ON CAMPUS, AND MAKE SURE ALL DOORS ARE LOCKED AND MONITORED.
I URGE THE BOARD TO DO THE RIGHT THING AND TO RECONSIDER GUN RAFFLES FOR CLUBS.
[00:35:07]
WE WILL NOW MOVE ON TO ITEM SIX CLOSED SESSION.[CLOSED SESSION]
THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES ON APRIL 22ND, 2024.WE'LL CONVENE IN CLOSED SESSION IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE TEXAS OPEN MEETING ACT, FOR THE PURPOSE OF DISCUSSING ITEMS LISTED UNDER TEXAS GOVERNMENT CODE SECTION 551.072. 551.074.
551.076. NO FINAL ACTIONS, DECISIONS OR VOTES WILL BE TAKEN WHILE THE BOARD IS IN EXECUTIVE SESSION.
THE BOARD ENDED ITS CLOSED SESSION AT 8:27 P.M.
WE WILL NOW MOVE TO ITEM SEVEN BUSINESS CONSENT AGENDA ITEMS A THROUGH K.
[BUSINESS: CONSENT AGENDA]
LET'S SEE.SO THAT LEAVES ITEMS A THROUGH K MINUS, EXCEPT FOR D.
DO WE HEAR A MOTION ON APPROVAL? I'LL MAKE A MOTION THAT WE APPROVE THE BUSINESS CONSENT AGENDA AS LISTED.
WITHOUT NUMBER D, I'LL SECOND.
WE HAVE A MOTION. WE HAVE A SECOND.
[Approve Expenditure for Lockhart High School Project Graduation]
SO WHEN YOU COMMENT I'M GOING TO JUST SAY THAT, YOU KNOW, WE'VE HAD SOME INPUT TONIGHT AND WE'VE HAD SOME INPUT THROUGHOUT THE LAST WEEK OR SO ABOUT THE GUN RAFFLE THAT'S BEING RUN BY THE CURRENT.YOU KNOW, I THINK IT THE OPTICS LOOK BAD.
YOU KNOW, IT'S NOTHING THAT WE TECHNICALLY APPROVE OR DON'T APPROVE, BUT I WOULD JUST ENCOURAGE IN THE FUTURE THAT THE FUTURE COMMITTEES, THE PEOPLE WORKING ON PROJECT GRADUATION IN THE FUTURE, THEY WOULD LOOK AT THIS, CONSIDER THIS AND LOOK FOR OTHER MEANS OF RAISING MONEY FOR THE END OF THE GRADUATION SEASON WHEN THEY'RE TAKING THE KIDS OUT.
AND THAT'S MY COMMENT ABOUT THAT.
ANYBODY ELSE I WOULD AGREE AND JUST, YOU KNOW.
FROM THE BOARD STANDS, YOU KNOW, NEXT YEAR, IF WHEN THIS TIME COMES THAT WE LOOK AT LIKE, WHAT WE CAN AND CANNOT DO AS A BOARD AS FAR AS THE REGULATIONS BEHIND IT, BECAUSE I DO KNOW IT'S AN OUTSIDE BOOSTER AND SO IT'S NOT CONTROLLED BY THE SCHOOL DISTRICT BUT THEY ARE ON CAMPUS AND THEY ARE, YOU KNOW, IT IS SUPPORTING OUR STUDENTS.
WELL, WHAT WE CAN IN MY POINT IS THAT WE WANT TO SUPPORT OUR STUDENTS.
WE WANT THEM TO HAVE A SAFE PRODIGY GRADUATION.
SO WE WANT TO CONTINUE TO TRY TO FUND, BUT WE ALSO WANT TO BE CAUTIOUS ABOUT THE MESSAGE BEING SENT.
WHEN YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT GUNS AND ALL THE ISSUES IN THE PAST, OR WE WANT TO PROMOTE SAFETY IN THE SCHOOLS AND SO WE'RE BEING ASKED TO RECONSIDER, TO THINK ABOUT GIVING MORE GUIDANCE TO THOSE GROUPS THAT ARE OUTSIDE OF THE THAT ARE ACTUALLY TRYING TO RAISE MONEY FOR STUDENTS IN THEIR ACTIVITIES.
BUT AT THE SAME TIME, THE PEOPLE ON THE COMMITTEE WOULD ENCOURAGE THEM TO CONTINUE TO TRY TO FIND OTHER OPTIONS FOR RAISING MONEY THAT MOVE AWAY FROM SOMETHING THAT MAKES US LOOK LIKE WE SUPPORT THE RAFFLES OF GUNS, BECAUSE WE DO NOT SUPPORT THAT.
SO THAT'S MY PERSPECTIVE AND BASED ON THE CALLS THAT I GOT AND THE CONCERNS, WE WANT KIDS TO BE SAFE AT PROJECT GRADUATION AND WE WANT TO DO OUR PART TO CONTRIBUTE, BUT WE ALSO WANT TO CAUTION AND GIVE GUIDANCE FOR THEM TO LOOK AT OTHER OPTIONS FOR RAFFLES.
I AGREE WITH DR. SANCHEZ AS WELL, JUST THE MESSAGE THAT YOU'RE RIGHT.
IT JUST TELLS OUR COMMUNITY THAT WE'RE SO IT JUST DOESN'T LOOK RIGHT.
[00:40:03]
HOW WE SUPPORT OUR STUDENTS IN OUR DISTRICT TO RAISE THE MONEY TO, FOR OUR THE TYPE OF FUNDS THAT NEEDED FOR THE ACTIVITIES AND I THINK THAT OUR COMMUNITY IS WILLING TO STEP UP AND EVEN SUPPLANT THAT MONEY THAT, YOU KNOW, THAT'S NEEDED.IT'S SOMETHING THAT'S DONE TO KEEP ALL OF OUR KIDS SAFE.
SO I'M SURE THAT THE SUPPORT WILL BE THERE.
ANY OTHER COMMENTS? OKAY. IN THAT CASE, WE'RE GOING TO MOVE TO APPROVE OR DISAPPROVE ITEM D, APPROVE EXPENDITURES FOR LOCKHART HIGH SCHOOL PROJECT GRADUATION.
I'LL SECOND. WE HAVE A MOTION.
WE HAVE A SECOND. ALL THOSE IN FAVOR SAY AYE.
AYE. ANY OPPOSED? THE MOTION PASSES 7 TO 0.
WE MOVE ON TO ITEM EIGHT COMMUNICATION A.
[Parent Forum Update]
PARENT FORUM UPDATE MR. ESTRADA. THANK YOU, MR. PRESIDENT. I JUST WANTED TO GIVE A QUICK UPDATE TO OUR COMMUNITY AND THE BOARD ABOUT THE LAST PARENT FEEDBACK FORUM THAT WE HOSTED THIS MONTH. WE HAD A GREAT CROWD.WE HAD ABOUT 50 PARENTS WHO SHOWED UP WE HAD A GREAT DIALOG ALL OF THE COMMENTS THAT WERE MADE WERE ABLE TO HAVE A REALLY GREAT DISCUSSION.
YOU'LL SEE THE PICTURE. IT'S KIND OF HARD TO SEE THE VISUAL, BUT AGAIN, THIS IS A WORD CLOUD.
WHEN I LOOK AT THE NOTES OF THE MEETING, EVERYTHING THAT WAS DISCUSSED AND WE PULLED THOSE FREQUENT WORDS, THE BIG THING THAT POPPED OUT WHERE KIDS AND TEACHERS AND YOU KNOW, PARENTS EXPRESSED.
THEY FELT LIKE THAT WAS A BIG PART.
WE SPENT A LOT OF TIME TALKING ABOUT THE VARIED NEEDS OF OUR PARENTS.
I WANT TO ONE OF THE THINGS AS AN ACTION ITEM THAT CAME UP FROM ONE OF OUR PARENTS WAS POSTING ON OUR WEBSITE THE TOPICS THAT WE'RE DISCUSSING IN THE MEETING WHICH WERE ACTUALLY DOING, I THINK HEATHER'S NOT HERE, BUT IT SHOULD BE LIVE TODAY TO WHERE YOU CAN GO AND SEE THE MEETING PRESENTATION OR WHAT WAS DISCUSSED.
THE NOTES WERE ALSO THERE'S A QUESTIONS THAT WERE ASKED THAT OUR TEAM PUT THE RESPONSES TO THAT'S GOING TO BE ON THE WEBSITE AS WELL, SO THAT IF PARENTS AREN'T ABLE TO ATTEND, THEY'RE ABLE TO GO AND SEE WHAT QUESTIONS ARE ASKED.
WHAT WERE THE ANSWERS TO THAT QUESTION? THOSE TYPES OF THINGS.
SO THAT WEBSITE WILL BE KIND OF A LANDING PAGE WHERE WE'LL CONTINUE TO UPLOAD DIFFERENT MEETING AGENDAS AND NOTES ON THAT WEBSITE. WE ALSO HAD A REQUEST THAT WE HAVE THESE MEETINGS PERIODICALLY AND REGULAR MEETINGS.
ALSO, THEY TALKED ABOUT HAVING ONE DURING THE SUMMER.
SO THE NEXT FORUM IS GOING TO BE ON JULY THE 16TH AT 5:30.
I THINK, YOU KNOW, AS WE GET READY TO START SCHOOL, GETTING PARENTS FEEDBACK, COMMUNICATING WITH THEM, I THINK IT'S A GOOD TIME AND THEN AFTER THAT, DURING THE SCHOOL YEAR, WE'LL HAVE ONE AFTER EVERY NINE WEEK GRADING PERIOD.
ALSO AS WE JUST ANNOUNCED LAST WEEK, WE HIRED DIRECTOR OF SCHOOL SAFETY AND COMMUNICATIONS.
WHAT WE HAVE HEARD OVER AND OVER FROM OUR PARENTS IS THE NEED TO IMPROVE COMMUNICATIONS, ESPECIALLY WHAT I'M HEARING FROM PARENTS COMMUNICATION REGARDING THE SAFETY AND WELL-BEING OF OUR CAMPUSES.
SO THE INTEGRATION OF THESE TWO ROLES I THINK ARE IS INCREDIBLY IMPORTANT.
I THINK THOSE TWO THINGS, WHEN WE LOOK AT THE FEEDBACK WHERE OUR PARENTS WANT TO SEE US IMPROVE, THEY KNOW THAT WE DO A GOOD JOB OF, YOU KNOW, SOCIAL MEDIA AND SHOWING THE GREAT THINGS THAT ARE HAPPENING IN OUR SCHOOLS.
[00:45:04]
TIME AND TIME AGAIN OUR PARENTS ARE REFERRING TO REGARDING SCHOOL SAFETY ISSUES RESPONSES TO DIFFERENT PROTOCOLS THAT WE MAY HAVE AND BY INTEGRATING THOSE TWO POSITIONS, I THINK IT'S GOING TO HELP US TO ENSURE THAT COMMUNICATION IS QUICK.IT'S CLEAR THAT IT'S ACCURATE.
SO I THINK THAT OUR PARENTS ARE GOING TO REALLY BE PLEASED WITH THAT CHANGE AS WELL.
BUT AGAIN, A GREAT MEETING WITH 50 PARENTS.
WE DID DO A THOUGHT EXCHANGE AS WELL.
IN THE TIME THAT WE HAD AND WE STAYED, IT WAS PRETTY LONG EVENING.
I THINK WE STAYED PROBABLY AN HOUR AND A HALF AFTER OUR SCHEDULED TIME.
BUT I THINK THAT'S THE COMMITMENT THAT WE WANT TO MAKE TO OUR PARENTS.
I MEAN, THEY WERE COMMITTED TO THAT CONVERSATION.
WE ALSO CONTINUE TO HAVE FORUMS FOR ELEMENTARY LIKE AROUND SCHOOLS AS WELL.
YES, SIR. THANK YOU FOR BRINGING THAT UP.
SO THE CAMPUS BASED FORUMS, EVERYONE HAD HAD ONE.
THEY HAVE ALSO ONE OF THE EXPECTATIONS WE'VE HAD IS FOR THEM TO FOLLOW UP WITH THEIR PARENTS.
BUT THAT'LL BE SOMETHING THAT WILL CONTINUE NEXT YEAR AS WELL.
I'VE HAD COMMENTS FROM SEVERAL PARENTS SAYING THAT THEY REALLY APPRECIATE THE OPPORTUNITY TO COME TOGETHER AND THE OPENNESS AND THEN THE RESPONSES THAT YOU ARE GIVING THE PARENTS BECAUSE THEY FEEL THAT THEY ARE BEING LISTENED TO SO THEY APPRECIATE WHAT'S BEING DONE.
ANY OTHER COMMENTS, BOARD? OKAY. THANK YOU, MR. ESTRADA.
ITEM 8B PARENT AND EMPLOYEE ENGAGEMENT SURVEY, MISS SEIDEL.
[Parent & Employee Engagement Survey]
SO, AS MISS SEIDEL APPROACHES SHE'S GOING TO WALK US THROUGH THIS PRESENTATION.I JUST WANT TO MENTION THIS IS REALLY HOT OFF THE PRESS.
WE JUST HAD TODAY TO REALLY START TO LOOK AT IT.
MISS SEIDEL. GOOD EVENING TO LISD BOARD MEMBERS.
MR. PRESIDENT, MEMBERS OF THE BOARD AND SUPERINTENDENT ESTRADA.
THIS YEAR WE USED A DIFFERENT PLATFORM FOR THE SURVEY.
LAST YEAR WE USED K-12 AND THIS YEAR WE USE THOUGHT EXCHANGE.
THE TIMING OF THE SURVEY WAS SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT FROM LAST YEAR, BUT QUESTIONS REMAIN THE SAME.
SO NOW WE'RE GOING TO GO THROUGH OUR DATA.
FOR THE PARTICIPATION FOR 2023.
FOR THE PARENTS, THERE WAS A TOTAL OF 524 PARTICIPANTS AND FOR 2024, 274 PARTICIPANTS.
FOR OUR STAFF FOR 2023, 438 PARTICIPANTS AND FOR 2024, 398.
WE'LL GO INTO OUR DISTRICT ENVIRONMENT AND THIS IS GOING TO BE GOOD TO YOUR COMPARISON.
FOR EACH OF THESE QUESTIONS THAT I'M GOING TO READ.
FOLLOWING LOCKHART ISD FOSTERS A CARING ENVIRONMENT.
FOR 2023, IT WAS AT 89% AND FOR 2024, 78%.
LOCKHART ISD EMBRACES DIVERSITY FOR 2023.
82% FOR PARENTS AND FOR 2024, 67% FOR STAFF FOR 2023.
89% AND FOR STAFF FOR 2024 82%.
LAST YEAR WAS THE FIRST YEAR THAT WE SURVEYED PARENTS AND STAFF WITH THE SAME QUESTIONS.
LAST YEAR WAS THE FIRST YEAR WE SURVEYED PARENTS AT ALL.
SO THAT'S WHY, YOU SEE AND THEN LATER YOU'RE GOING TO SEE ANOTHER SET OF QUESTIONS THAT WE'VE ASKED STAFF CONSISTENTLY OVER THE LAST SEVEN YEARS.
BUT WE DID NOT ASK PARENTS THOSE QUESTIONS.
[00:50:03]
THIS. SO WE ONLY HAVE TWO YEARS OF DATA COMPARISON.WRIGHT, LOCKHART ISD CELEBRATES THE ACHIEVEMENTS OF ALL STUDENTS FOR PARENTS FOR 2023, 78%.
2024, 71% FOR STAFF 2023, 86% AND FOR THIS YEAR, 73%.
LOCKHART ISD RECOGNIZES AND CELEBRATES THE ACHIEVEMENTS OF ALL EMPLOYEES.
FOR 2023, FOR PARENTS, 72% THIS YEAR 65%.
FOR STAFF FOR 2023, 71%, AND FOR THIS YEAR, 55%.
FOR 2023, PARENTS 76% 2024 66% FOR STAFF 2023 87%. FOR STAFF FOR 2024 72%, LOCKHART ISD EMPLOYS EXCELLENT STAFF THAT MEET THE NEEDS OF EVERY STUDENT.
FOR STAFF FOR 2023 82% AND FOR 2024, 64%.
LOCKHART ISD PROVIDES FOR FAMILIES TO PROVIDE INPUT ON HOW TO IMPROVE 2023 PARENTS 75%, 2024 73%. FOR STAFF 2023 83%, 2024 79%.
LOCKHART ISD IS EFFICIENT, EFFECTIVE, AND TRANSPARENT IN ITS BUSINESS OPERATIONS 2023 69%, 2024 54% OR STAFF 2023 82%, 2024 58%.
NOW WE'RE MOVING INTO ACADEMIC AND STUDENT SUPPORT.
MISS SEIDEL, ONE OF THE THINGS THAT WHEN WE LOOK AT THIS REPORT, THIS IS A DISTRICT OVERALL, I THINK ONE OF THE THINGS THAT AS WE CONTINUE TO DIVE INTO THIS DATA, AND I HAD A CHANCE EARLIER TODAY TO LOOK AT IT, YOU KNOW, BASED ON THE CAMPUS, YOU COULD WE SAW HUGE DIFFERENCES.
YOU KNOW, WE HAD SOME CAMPUSES AS HIGH AS, YOU KNOW, 94%, YOU KNOW AND THEN YOU HAD SOME IN THE 60S, YOU KNOW, SO YOU HAD THESE PRETTY BIG DIFFERENCES OF WORKING IN THE SAME DISTRICT.
BUT THE EXPERIENCES AT THE CAMPUSES MAY BE VERY DIFFERENT.
SO THAT'S SOMETHING THAT WE'RE GOING TO HAVE TO CONTINUE TO LOOK AT.
AND CONTINUING TO ACADEMIC AND STUDENT SUPPORT.
LOCKHART ISD OFFERS ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE IN 2023 PARENTS 78%, 2024 63%.
FOR STAFF 2023 83% THIS YEAR 66%.
LOCKHART ISD PROVIDES STRUCTURES THAT SUPPORT A COLLABORATIVE, FLEXIBLE, SAFE AND RESPECTFUL LEARNING ENVIRONMENT FOR 2023 FOR PARENTS 76%, 2024 60%.
LOCKHART ISD PROVIDES EACH STUDENT WITH OPPORTUNITIES TO BE CHALLENGED AND SUPPORTED.
THIS YEAR 60% FOR STAFF 2023 79%.
LOCKHART ISD PROVIDES EACH STUDENT WITH DIVERSE OPPORTUNITIES FOR PERSONAL GROWTH 2023 PARENTS 71%, 2024 61%. STAFF 2023 83%.
2024 65% AND THEN MOVING TO COMMUNICATION.
THE COMMUNICATION I GET FROM LISD IS TIMELY.
FOR PARENTS 2023 86%, 2024 70% FOR STAFF 2023 89%.
THE COMMUNICATION I RECEIVED FROM LISD IS USEFUL FOR 2023 PARENTS.
FOR STAFF 2023 90% THIS YEAR 84% AND CONTINUING WITH COMMUNICATION, DISTRICT LEADERS CLEARLY COMMUNICATE THE REASONS BEHIND DECISIONS ON KEY ISSUES FOR PARENTS 2023 81%, 2024 53%.
[00:55:05]
DISTRICT LEADERS EFFECTIVELY COMMUNICATE IMPORTANT ISSUES THAT AFFECT THE COMMUNITY.FOR 2023, PARENTS 84%, 2024 66%.
THEN FOR STAFF 2023 89% THIS YEAR 72% AND THEN MOVING INTO THE SEVEN YEARS THAT MR. ESTRADA WAS TALKING ABOUT OF HISTORICAL DATA.
AND THEY YOUR LAST YEAR IT WAS AT 94.
I AM SATISFIED WITH THE WORK I DO AND THAT STAYED.
THIS REMAINED THE SAME FROM LAST YEAR TO THIS YEAR.
MY CURRENT DUTIES AND WORK ASSIGNMENTS ARE INTERESTING.
THAT ONE WAS VERY CLOSE AND REMAIN JUST A POINT OFF.
I'M MOTIVATED TO CONTRIBUTE MORE THAN WHAT IS EXPECTED OF ME.
LAST YEAR IT WAS AT 85 AND THIS YEAR IT'S AT 79.
I SEE PROFESSIONAL GROWTH AND LONG TERM CAREER OPPORTUNITIES IN THE SCHOOL DISTRICT.
LAST YEAR IT WAS AT 76 AND THIS YEAR IT'S AT 61.
I FEEL APPRECIATED FOR THE WORK THAT I DO AND LAST YEAR WAS AT 76 AND THIS YEAR IT'S AT 60.
MY SUPERVISOR REGULARLY GIVES ME FEEDBACK.
LAST YEAR WITH IT 70, AND THIS YEAR IT'S AT 60.
MY SUPERVISOR IDENTIFIES OPPORTUNITIES FOR MY PROFESSIONAL GROWTH AND IMPROVEMENT.
LAST YEAR WAS AT 76 AND THIS YEAR IS AT 62.
I THINK WHEN YOU LOOK AT THIS, YOU KNOW, IT'S.
FIRST OFF, YOU KNOW, IT'S UNACCEPTABLE JUST TO SEE THAT WHERE WE WERE.
WE'VE GONE DOWN ACROSS THE BOARD.
LAST YEAR WAS A HUGE YEAR TO WHERE WE HAD MASSIVE GAINS.
I MEAN, YOU CAN LOOK AT LAST YEAR'S COLOR.
KIND OF THAT TEAL COLOR AND YOU JUST SEE THAT WE JUST HAD HUGE GAINS LAST YEAR AND THEN THIS YEAR WE'VE GONE BACK TO MORE LIKE 2020, 2021 KIND OF RESULTS.
NOT QUITE 2018 OR 2019, BUT STILL, YOU KNOW, IT'S NOT WHERE WE WANT TO BE.
SO WE'LL BE TAKING A REALLY DEEP DIVE INTO THIS AT THE CAMPUS LEVEL.
ALSO LOOKING AT THERE ARE SOME THINGS THAT, YOU KNOW, THE WORDING OF THESE THINGS WERE RELEVANT IN 2018, BUT NOW WE'RE SHARED LEADERSHIP BY DESIGN, MAY NO LONGER BE RELEVANT AND MAY LOOK NEGATIVE, BUT BY DESIGN WE'VE CHANGED.
WHO'S GIVING FEEDBACK? YOU KNOW, MAYBE THEIR LABOR LEADER NOW GIVEN CHARGE WITH THOSE TYPES OF THINGS.
SO BUT YOU CERTAINLY SEE THE TREND AND THEN WE LOOK AT THE CAMPUS BY CAMPUS, THAT'S WHERE WE REALLY ARE GOING TO HAVE TO FOCUS WHICH CAMPUS NEEDS, YOU KNOW, SUPPORT AND WHICH ONES ARE DOING WELL, BECAUSE, YOU KNOW, I DON'T THINK IT'S FAIR TO PAINT A, YOU KNOW, A BROAD BRUSH OVER ALL OF THE CAMPUSES BECAUSE THERE ARE SOME CAMPUSES WHO ARE IN THE 90S.
YEAH. SO I THINK WE'LL GET THAT DATA TO THE BOARD AS WELL.
IS THERE ONE PARTICULAR CAMPUS THAT BECAUSE I SEE LIKE A HUGE DROP IN PARENT, LIKE HOW MANY PARENTS IS THERE LIKE A SPECIFIC CAMPUS THAT HAD A LOT LESS PARENTS GIVE FEEDBACK THAN MAYBE WHAT THEY HAD BEFORE, AND MAYBE THAT'S WHAT'S CONTRIBUTING TO SOME OF THAT.
AND THEN WHAT WAS THAT NUMBER LAST YEAR? I KNOW I'M GUILTY IN SOME SITUATIONS OF LIKE, IF EVERYTHING'S GOING GREAT, I JUST DON'T TAKE THE SURVEY THAT'S, YOU KNOW, JUST ABOUT SO, OH, IT'S YOUR FAULT.
IT IS MY FAULT. YEAH AND I THINK GENERALLY THAT IS TRUE WHEN YOU LOOK AT SURVEY RESEARCH AND DATA OF WHO, YOU KNOW, WHO GIVES REVIEWS AND SURVEYS, THOSE TYPES OF THINGS.
BUT I ALSO FEEL THAT, YOU KNOW, WE HAVE 7 OR 8 YEARS OF DATA FOR SOME OF THE QUESTIONS.
SO, YOU KNOW, WE'VE, WE STILL HAVE TO LOOK OURSELVES IN THE MIRROR AND FIGURE OUT WHERE WE NEED TO PROVIDE BETTER SUPPORT AND IMPROVE. YOU CAN ONLY IMPROVE ON THE DATA THAT YOU HAVE.
[01:00:03]
SO. YEAH, I WAS WONDERING THE SAME THING.PARTICULARLY WITH THE PARENTS, SINCE WE HAD SUCH A DROP IN THE NUMBERS THAT TOOK IT.
IF THAT MEANT I TOOK IT, BY [INAUDIBLE].
I THINK THE THE TIMING IS A LEARNING EXPERIENCE FOR US.
YOU KNOW, WE'RE WE DID IT LATER THAN WHEN WE TYPICALLY DO.
AND THAT POTENTIALLY, YOU KNOW, COULD HAVE PLAYED INTO YOU KNOW, SOME THINGS.
BUT AS WE'RE TRANSITIONING FROM ONE PLATFORM TO A DIFFERENT PLATFORM.
YOU KNOW, IT TOOK A LITTLE LONGER THAN PLANNED TO TRANSITION.
BUT THE QUESTIONS ARE STILL THE SAME VERBATIM.
BUT IT IS LATER WE, YOU KNOW, PROBABLY A MONTH LATER OR SO.
BUT AS A PERSON THAT TOOK IT ALSO FOR ME, THE QUESTIONS AT TIMES SEEMED A BIT REDUNDANT ALSO.
SO I WONDERED ABOUT THE QUESTIONS.
I WAS LIKE, WELL, I KIND OF THAT WAS KIND OF ENCAPSULATED IN THE LAST PART, YOU KNOW? SO I THINK YOU'RE RIGHT.
I THINK WE HAVE TO LOOK AT THE QUESTIONS.
YOU GUYS HAVE TO LOOK AT THE QUESTIONS.
BECAUSE, YOU KNOW, IN ANY SURVEY, QUESTIONS KIND OF GUIDE YOU TOWARD THE ANSWER SOMETIMES.
ALSO, YOU KNOW, IT CAN LEAD TO BEING ONE EXTREME OR THE NEXT.
YOU KNOW, I'VE ALWAYS WONDERED ANYTIME YOU HAVE THAT WHATEVER IT IS, THE SPECTRUM ONE THROUGH FIVE OR WHATEVER THE RATING WAS, YOU KNOW, SOMETIMES WHEN YOU'RE JUST GOING THROUGH AND YOU'RE CLICKING, YOU MIGHT JUST STAY ON ONE PARTICULAR PART AND THEN ALSO THERE WAS STUFF IN THERE WHERE I FELT LIKE I DIDN'T HAVE ENOUGH INFORMATION TO BE ABLE TO, YOU KNOW, MAKE A REALLY GOOD DECISION.
I WONDER HOW MANY PARENTS KIND OF GRAPPLE WITH THAT ALSO.
SOMETHING WE LOOKED AT TODAY WAS WE HAD A LOT HIGHER NUMBER OF PEOPLE CLICK A BUTTON THAT SAID, I DON'T KNOW YOU KNOW, BUT UNFORTUNATELY, THE WAY THAT EXCHANGE DOES IS IT INCLUDES THEM, AS YOU KNOW, THE 100%.
BUT YOU THERE ARE SOME QUESTIONS WHERE YOU'D HAVE, YOU KNOW, 9, 12% OF PEOPLE SAY, I DON'T KNOW.
SO RIGHT OFF THE BAT, THE MAX YOU'RE GOING TO GET IS 88%.
SO WE'RE LOOKING AT THE HOW DID THAT FACTOR IN COMPARED TO THE OLD K-12 SYSTEM.
BECAUSE THAT WAS SOMETHING THAT THAT WE NOTICED.
WE NEED TO DIG INTO THAT DIFFERENT.
YEAH. WE HAVE TO DIG INTO THAT.
SO THERE'S ALSO THE PROBLEM WITH SURVEYS WHERE.
ONE INCIDENT CAN CHANGE YOUR ANSWER FROM FROM A POSITIVE TO A NEGATIVE.
THAT ONE NEGATIVE POINT, ONE BAD EXPERIENCE LIKE WE ALL DO AND SO WHEN THEY'RE WRITING THIS, IF IT HAPPENED CLOSE TO THIS TIME OF THE SURVEY, YOU'RE GOING TO GET A LOT MORE NEGATIVE. POSITIVE.
SO WE HAVE TO BE MINDFUL OF SO THIS WAS GIVEN.
THIS SURVEY WAS TAKEN APRIL 10TH THROUGH THE 19TH.
WHAT WOULD BE THAT TIME FRAME? TYPICALLY WE DO IT AROUND SPRING BREAK AND WE GIVE THE THE REPORT AT THE MARCH BOARD MEETING.
SO CAN YOU MONITOR HOW MANY PARENTS ACTUALLY ARE PARTICIPATING PER CAMPUS? HE SAID. WE'RE GOING TO I'M GOING TO ASK THAT FOR THAT DATA.
SO DOES A SURVEY ALLOW FOR COMMENTS TO BE MADE BY THE THIS PARTICIPANT? THIS ONE DID NOT.
UNDERSTAND THAT A LITTLE BIT BETTER.
YES AND, WELL, THIS WILL NOT BE THE LAST TIME WE'VE GOT A LOT OF ANALYSIS AND KIND OF FACT FINDING.
INTERPRETATION WORK TO DO WITH THIS WE JUST KIND OF HOT OFF THE PRESS.
DID LAST YEAR'S SURVEY HAVE COMMENTS? OR NO. I DON'T RECALL.
I DON'T THINK SO. YEAH, WE SWITCHED OVER BECAUSE WE'VE USED THAT EXCHANGE.
THAT EXCHANGE HAS A NEW FEATURE NOW TO WHERE YOU CAN DO SURVEY QUESTIONS.
SO INSTEAD OF PAYING FOR TWO, WE, CANCELED THE OTHER ONE BECAUSE WE ALREADY PAID FOR THAT EXCHANGE.
AND WE JUST USED THE SAME QUESTIONS AND JUST TO SAVE MONEY AREAS OF OPPORTUNITY ARE AS FOLLOWS.
REVIEW AND UPDATE HIRING PRACTICES.
[01:05:01]
INCREASE PARENT ENGAGEMENT.CONTINUE AND EXPAND STAFF RECOGNITION AND EXPAND COMMUNICATIONS FOR BUSINESS OPERATIONS AND THEN OTHER AREAS OF OPPORTUNITY WILL INCREASE AND FOCUS ON NAVIGATE TO 28 PRIORITIES, WHICH ARE LISTED BELOW.
THAT WHICH INCLUDE AREAS OF RECRUITMENT AND RETENTION.
INNOVATIVE STUDENT OPPORTUNITIES, STRATEGIC GROWTH AND PLANNING, ACADEMICS AND INSTRUCTION, LEADERSHIP, CULTURE, STUDENT SUPPORT AND INTERVENTION, AND PARENT AND COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT.
THANK YOU, MR. IDLE, FOR FOR FOR MENTIONING THAT CONNECTING IT TO NAVIGATE TO 28 BECAUSE I THINK THAT IS IF THERE'S SOMETHING GOOD, YOU KNOW, IT'S THAT WE HAVE A SOLID PLAN WE'RE WORKING ON.
SO MUCH OF THE FEEDBACK THAT WE RECEIVED IS IS NATURALLY EMBEDDED INTO THAT PLAN THAT WE HAVE WORK GROUPS WORKING ON AND THAT WILL GET AN UPDATE ON LATER THIS EVENING. DISTRICT LEADERSHIP, INCLUDING CAMPUS ADMINISTRATION, WILL DO DATA ANALYSIS OF RESULTS THAT WE'VE JUST RECEIVED, AND ACTION STEPS WILL BE IDENTIFIED AS A RESULT OF A DEEPER DATA DIVE AND WE WILL ALSO BE REVIEWING OUR AREAS OF OPPORTUNITY.
YOU HAVE A QUESTION, BOARD? OKAY. THANK YOU.
WE MOVE TO ITEM C, NAVIGATE TO 28 UPDATE.
[Navigate to '28 Update ]
MISS DOCTOR CAMARILLO.SO, AS MR. ESTRADA SAID LATER THIS EVENING IS RIGHT NOW.
SO I'M GOING TO GO AHEAD AND GIVE YOU THE NAVIGATE TO 28 BOARD UPDATE IN FRONT OF YOU.
YOU'LL HAVE THE BOARD TRACKER THAT LOOKS LIKE A SPREADSHEET AND THAT HAS DROP DOWN MENUS ON THERE AND THEN YOU ALSO HAVE A COPY OF THE DISTRICT IMPROVEMENT PLAN, WHICH ALL OF THESE THINGS ARE IN THERE.
SO TAKE YOUR PICK ON WHICH ONE YOU WANT TO LOOK AT.
BUT THE EASIEST ONE MIGHT BE THE POWERPOINT.
WE STARTED, AS YOU RECALL, WITH YOUR BOARD AND CABINET INPUT INTO OUR SWOT ANALYSIS, CAME UP WITH ANALYSIS, CAME UP WITH MEETING WITH 77 MEMBERS OF THE COMMITTEE. WE HAD NINE MEMBER TEAMS, SEVEN PRIORITIES THAT WE CAME UP WITH WITH THREE GOALS BUT ONE MISSION AND SO THAT BECAME OUR NAVIGATE TO 28 PLAN AND AS WE MENTIONED, THAT WAS GOING TO BECOME OUR DISTRICT IMPROVEMENT PLAN FOR THE NEXT FIVE YEARS, THAT WE WERE GOING TO BE USING THIS AS OUR GUIDE FOR THE NEXT FIVE YEARS.
WE ALSO DEVELOPED, AS YOU REMEMBER, A GRADUATE PROFILE THAT LOOKED LIKE, WHAT WERE OUR GRADUATES GOING TO LOOK LIKE WHEN THEY FROM THEIR ONSET OF PRE-K TO CROSSING THE STAGE AT GRADUATION? THE THINGS THAT WE WANTED THEM TO HAVE AS CHARACTERISTICS.
SO WHERE ARE WE NOW? AS I MENTIONED, WE'RE NOW USING THIS TOOL IN THE DISTRICT LEADERSHIP TEAM.
WE HAVE 45 OF US THAT ARE ON THAT TEAM.
WE HAVE SEVEN DESIGN TEAMS AROUND THE SEVEN PRIORITIES.
WE HAVE FIVE MONTHLY MEETINGS THAT WE'VE HAD SO FAR.
JUST KIND OF KEEP GOING OVER THESE PRIORITIES.
WE HAVE THAT PROJECT TRACKER THAT YOU HAVE IN FRONT OF YOU AND THESE ARE THE DESIGN TEAMS FOR EACH OF OUR PRIORITIES AND WE MADE A COMMITMENT AS A CABINET TO AT EVERY DISTRICT LEADERSHIP TEAM MEETING THAT FOLLOWS THE BOARD MEETING, WE AT LEAST COMMIT TO AN HOUR AND A HALF FOR WORK TIME WITH THESE TEAMS TO CONTINUE WORKING ON THOSE PRIORITIES.
OUR FIRST ONE THAT WE HAVE IS A RETENTION AND RECRUITMENT AND OF COURSE, THIS IS ALL ABOUT THOSE STRATEGIES THAT WE'RE USING FOR THIS AND AS I GO INTO IT THIS SECOND QUARTER OF PRESENTING THIS TO YOU, JUST A REMINDER THAT A LOT OF THOSE DESIGN TEAMS IN THESE FIRST FEW MONTHS HAVE BEEN FACT FINDING, INVENTORYING, AUDITING THINGS IN OUR DISTRICT.
SO YOU'LL SEE MORE AND MORE AS WE GO INTO THE YEARS AND MONTHS OF THIS WORK.
WE REVIEWED AND REVAMPED THE NEW PROFESSION TRAINING.
ON THE FRONT END OF THE YEAR WE HOSTED A FALL AND SPRING EVENT FOR ALL STAFF, AND WE'RE LOOKING AT DEVELOPING THAT NEW TO PROFESSION TRAINING SCHEDULE TO ENSURE THAT WE HAVE EVERYONE IN THERE AT THE TRAINING AT THE RIGHT POINT IN THE SCHOOL YEAR.
FOR INNOVATIVE STUDENT OPPORTUNITIES.
THIS IS ALL ABOUT STUDENT AGENCY INVOLVED IN THEIR IN THEIR OWN LEARNING.
WHAT DOES THAT EVEN MEAN? SO KIND OF LOOKED AT THAT.
THEY'VE HELD TWO PARENT COMMITTEE MEETINGS ALREADY TO TALK TO THEM ABOUT THOSE INNOVATIVE PROGRAMS IN OUR COMMUNITY AND THEN THEY'RE COLLECTING RIGHT NOW, OR HAVE COLLECTED PRELIMINARY AREAS OF INTEREST FROM OUR COMMUNITY MEMBERS TO SEE WHICH PROGRAMS WE CAN IMPLEMENT IN LOCKHART ISD.
STRATEGIC GROWTH AND PLANNING.
[01:10:06]
ENVIRONMENTS FOR OUR STUDENTS.SO THIS GROUP HAS REALLY FOCUSED ON LOOKING AT CURRENT ENROLLMENT, LOOKING AT THE SPACE THAT WE HAVE, LOOKING FORWARD INTO 2425, ALONG WITH THE DEMOGRAPHER AND INFORMATION THAT WE HAVE THERE WITH THIS GROUP.
FOR ACADEMICS AND INSTRUCTION.
WE CAN DO EVERYTHING DURING TIER ONE.
THAT WAS LITERACY, THAT WAS PART OF THAT.
AND IN ADDITION TO THE END OF THE YEAR TEST THAT THEY HAVE CNI GROUP HAS MET WITH EACH PRINCIPAL TO REVIEW THAT WRITING DASHBOARD AND KIND OF REALLY GIVING THEM REAL TIME INFORMATION AND THEY'VE ALSO ESTABLISHED A TRAINING CADENCE FOR OUR CAMPUS STAFF IN THIS AREA OF LITERACY.
WE'VE ALSO THIS IS ALL ABOUT HOW DO WE DEVELOP THAT CULTURE OF LEADERSHIP.
SO WE CONTINUE RETAINING OUR TEACHERS HERE IN LOCKHART AND OUR STAFF BECAUSE WE HAVE PATHWAYS FOR, YOU KNOW, BOTH ADMINISTRATIVE AND NON-ADMINISTRATIVE PATHWAYS, SO THAT WE CONTINUE BUILDING THAT FOR OUR STAFF, STUDENTS AND PARENTS.
SO WE'VE KIND OF CREATED A DEFINITION OF WHAT THAT MEANS TO HAVE A LEADERSHIP PATHWAY SO THAT WE'RE CONSISTENT WITH IF WE'RE GOING TO SAY WE HAVE A PATHWAY FOR STUDENTS, WHAT DOES THAT LOOK LIKE? WE'VE AUDITED THE THINGS THAT WE CURRENTLY HAVE IN PLACE HERE IN LOCKHART FOR BOTH OUR STUDENTS AND OUR PARENTS AND OUR STAFF AND THEN THIS RIGHT NOW, WE'RE CURRENTLY WORKING ON DEVELOPING ONBOARDING AND TRAINING AND SUPPORT PLANS FOR VARIOUS LEADERSHIP LEVELS.
STUDENT SUPPORT AND ENGAGEMENT.
THIS IS ALL ABOUT RTI, ACADEMIC AND BEHAVIORAL RTI.
SO WE'VE LOOKED AT STREAMLINING THAT SYSTEM FOR RTI.
THAT WAS SOMETHING THAT WE SAW WAS A LITTLE FRAGMENTED THROUGHOUT THE DISTRICT.
SO WE'RE KIND OF LOOKING AT HOW DO WE STREAMLINE STREAMLINE THAT.
WE MET WITH CNI TO REVIEW THAT PROCESS AND THE VISION FOR RESPONSE TO INTERVENTION.
PARENT AND COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT AS WE CONTINUE INCREASING IN THIS AREA.
OPPORTUNITIES TO RECEIVE THAT FEEDBACK.
THIS GROUP HAS BEEN WORKING ON THE PARENT LIAISON JOB DESCRIPTIONS ON EACH CAMPUS.
THEY'RE MEETING WITH THE CAMPUS STAFF AND ADMINISTRATION AND KIND OF GET FEEDBACK ON THE NEED FOR PARENT LIAISONS ON EACH CAMPUS AND THEN ALSO COLLABORATING WITH THEM TO TALK ABOUT WHAT IS IT? WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO ESTABLISH A PARENT COMMITTEE ON EACH CAMPUS? WHAT ARE THEY GOING TO BE DOING? WHAT'S THEIR INVOLVEMENT IN THAT? SO AS YOU CAN SEE, THE PROJECT TRACKER, WHICH IS THE FIRST PAGE OF YOUR BOARD TRACKER, YOU KNOW, WE'LL HAVE A QUARTERLY UPDATE ON TRACK NOT STARTED OR COMPLETED IF YOU DIG INTO AND I'M NOT GOING TO GO INTO EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THOSE PRIORITIES, BUT YOU'LL SEE THE ACTION STEPS FOR EACH ONE, AND YOU CAN SEE WHERE THAT GROUP HAS DROPPED DOWN THE WHERE THE STATUS IS ON FOR THAT PARTICULAR GROUP OR THAT ACTION STEP.
SO WHERE WE'RE GOING NEXT, WE'RE GOING TO CONTINUE WORKING WITH OUR DESIGN TEAMS. WE THINK THAT'S REALLY WORKING WELL WITH OUR GROUPS.
IN THOSE PLANS, WE ALL CONTINUE GIVING YOU QUARTERLY UPDATES LIKE AS I MENTIONED, WE EXTENDED SOME OF THOSE COMMITTEES AND THEN THE NEXT THING WE'RE REALLY WORKING ON IS A COMMUNICATION PLAN FOR HOW DO WE CONTINUE MOVING THIS.
AND KIND OF OUR NORTH STAR FOR OUR DISTRICT.
ANY QUESTIONS? HAVE WE LOST MEMBERS OF THE GROUP? I'M SORRY, HAVE WE LOST ANY MEMBERS OF THE ORIGINAL GROUP? YES, MA'AM AND WE REPLACED THEM WITH PEOPLE THAT HAVE EITHER TAKEN THEIR ROLE OR THAT POSITION, OR WE'VE THOUGHT OF OTHER PEOPLE THAT WE COULD ADD TO THAT GROUP.
ITEM EIGHT D PROGRESS MONITORING DATA ON DISTRICT ACHIEVEMENT TARGETS.
[Progress Monitoring Data on District Achievement Targets]
TY DAVIDSON, SIR.GOOD EVENING, PRESIDENT WRIGHT.
AS A REMINDER, OUR GOALS FOR THE YEAR ARE 80% OF OUR STUDENTS IN GRADES PRE-K THROUGH FIVE AND 70% OF KIDS SIX THROUGH 10TH WILL EARN 1.5 YEARS PROGRESS IN READING, AS WELL AS 70% OF OUR STUDENTS IN K THROUGH ALGEBRA ONE WILL MAKE THAT 1.5 YEARS, 1.5 YEARS PROGRESS IN MATH.
OUR DATA MONITORING CONTINUES TO SUPPORT STUDENT AND PARENT COMMUNICATION.
[01:15:04]
TWO FROM LEADER IN ME AND HAVING STUDENTS MONITOR THEIR OWN DATA THROUGH ASSESSMENT CHECKS, TYPICALLY AT THE END OF THE WEEK.BUT THEY CAN ALSO HAPPEN AFTER UNITS ARE PRESENTED TO CHILDREN.
SO AS WE HAVE RAMPED UP FOR THE STATE ASSESSMENT, YOU SEE MORE AND MORE KIDS MONITORING THEIR OWN PROGRESS AND CHECKING IN BOTH IN SMALL GROUPS AND WITH THEIR TEACHERS.
WE CONTINUE TO DO CAMPUS MONITORING RESPONSE TO DATA.
SO EVERY CAMPUS FOLLOWED THE SAME PROCESS THAT WE HAD WITH ELA, WITH THE MATHBENCHMARKS.
SO EACH CAMPUS HAS A RESPONSE THAT THEY DID AROUND THE DATA THAT THEY RECEIVED FROM THE MATH BENCHMARK AND WE ARE STRATEGICALLY GOING OUT TO CAMPUSES.
SO THAT'S WHERE YOU SEE, WITH THIS CAMPUS SUPPORT VISITS, WE GO OUT AND MONITOR THOSE THOSE PLANS ON THE CAMPUSES, WHETHER THAT'S CHECKING IN WITH PLCS, CLASSROOM VISITS OR ONE ON ONES WITH PRINCIPALS.
WE CONTINUE TO ALIGN OUR PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT.
SO THAT THREAD THAT YOU'VE HEARD US TALK ABOUT ALL YEAR LONG, FROM LEVER LEADER TO AP TO PRINCIPAL, SO THAT IT TRICKLES DOWN TO CAMPUS LEADERS, CONTINUES AS WE FINISH UP THE YEAR SO THAT ALL THE INFORMATION GOES FROM THE BOARD ROOM TO THE LIVING ROOM.
OUR READING DATA FOR THE MONTH.
JUST A REMINDER WE DO ISTATION ELEMENTARY REN-LEARN AT SECONDARY.
ALTHOUGH WE DID SEE A DIP IN TIER ONE FROM LAST MONTH.
WHICH MOST OF THOSE STUDENTS FELL INTO THE TIER TWO.
SO YOU SEE THE INCREASES IN TIER TWO? WE ARE STILL AHEAD OF WHERE WE WERE LAST YEAR WHEN IT COMES TO OVERALL TIER ONE, BUT WE ARE BEHIND WHERE WE WERE IN 2022.
SO WE'RE ABOUT EVEN OVER THE LAST COUPLE OF YEARS WHERE WE WERE GOING INTO THE LAST MONTH.
SO WE DO LOOK TO SEE SOME INCREASES.
WE WANT TO SEE INCREASES FOR THAT TIER MOVEMENT GOING TO THE END OF THE YEAR, BECAUSE WE'D LIKE FOR US TO FINISH UP 2024 AS THE HIGHEST TIER ONE PERCENTAGE OVER THE LAST FIVE YEARS. SO WE'RE ON TRACK TO DO SO BUT WE'LL SEE HOW MAY GOES.
SO WHEN YOU LOOK ACROSS THE BOARD, LISD AS A DISTRICT IS UP TO ABS BY 1, BBE BY SIX, CFE BY ONE, NAVARRO BY THREE, AND PLUM CREEK THREE. SO IF YOU JUST STARE AT THE GRAPHS, YOU'LL SEE.
SO KUDOS TO OUR ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS.
WHEN YOU LOOK AT THESE GROUPS BY PROGRAMS, WE'RE STILL AHEAD WHERE WE WERE.
WE HAVE THE DISTRICT UP BY THREE MAJOR IMPROVEMENTS AT THE HIGH SCHOOL, WITH FOR THE JUNIOR HIGH GOING BY ONE, BUT REALLY PROUD TO ALSO SAY IN ELAR AT THE SECONDARY WE'RE AT THREE MONTHS IN A ROW WHERE WE HAVE SHOWN GROWTH.
SO ELEMENTARY IS AT 4, SECONDARY IS AT THREE.
SO WE CONTINUE TO SEE THESE GRAPHS MOVE IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION.
SO PROUD OF THE WORK THAT'S GOING ON WITH LR ACROSS THE ENTIRE DISTRICT.
DREAMBOX GRADES K THROUGH ONE RENAISSANCE LEARNING.
THERE'S AN ASTERISK THERE BECAUSE THERE IS NO SECONDARY DUE TO TESTING FOR REN LEARN.
WE DID SEE A DECREASE IN DREAMBOX USAGE BASICALLY ACROSS THREE DIFFERENT CAMPUSES.
SO JUST DEPENDING ON THE AMOUNT OF MINUTES THAT THESE CAMPUSES USE, YOU'LL SEE THAT THE WHICH CAMPUSES SHOWED INCREASES WITH THEIR STUDENTS AND WHICH ONES, WHICH ONES SHOWED DECREASES. NEXT.
WE HAVE ELEMENTARY MATH FOR STARREN.
AS A DISTRICT, WE ARE UP TO WE HAD TWO CAMPUSES SHOW A 1% DROP.
ONE CAMPUS SHOW 1% INCREASE, WHILE NAVARRO SHOWED TWO AND PCE SHOWED FOUR.
[01:20:05]
WERE PERCENTAGES HAVE SHOWN INCREASES FOR STARREN ON A MONTHLY BASIS GRADES TWO THROUGH FIVE.ANY QUESTIONS TEAM, HAVE YOU IDENTIFIED? WHAT ARE THOSE THINGS THAT ARE HAPPENING AT PALM CREEK ELEMENTARY THAT ARE THAT THEY'RE EVIDENT.
THE PERCENTAGES ARE ALWAYS HIGH.
SO I WILL TELL YOU BESIDES, YOU KNOW, HAVING THE CAMPUS WITH THE LONGEST STANDING LEVER LEADERS HAVING SOME REALLY SUPERIOR STANDARDS AND SYSTEMS AT THEIR CAMPUS DIGGING INTO THEIR ELA DATA, THEY HAVE DONE EXTREMELY WELL OVER THE LAST FEW MONTHS WITH WORKING ON VOCABULARY AND FLUENCY AT THEIR CAMPUSES, IN PARTICULAR AT THE YOUNGER GRADE LEVELS.
SO WHEN YOU LOOK AND YOU BREAK IT DOWN PLUM CREEK HAS DONE A GOOD JOB IN PARTICULAR WITH THOSE TWO AREAS AROUND ELA AND IN MATH, IT'S JUST THEIR UPPER GRADE LEVELS WHO ARE OUTPERFORMING AND SHOWING A LOT OF GROWTH AS COMPARED TO THEIR SISTER SCHOOLS ACROSS THE DISTRICT.
THEIR LABOR LEADERS ARE STRONG.
SO SHE IS SUPPORTING ANOTHER CAMPUS AND THEN SHE'S ALSO HELPING WITH THE SHARED LEADERSHIP MODEL TO HELP OTHER CAMPUSES, NOT NECESSARILY NOT NECESSARILY DUPLICATE WHAT THEY DO THERE, BUT HELPING STRENGTHEN SYSTEMS AT OTHER CAMPUSES SO THAT THERE WE CAN SEE GROWTH IN THEIR DATA AS WELL.
I'VE ALSO NOTICED EVERY YEAR IN MAY THEY HAVE THE HIGHEST NUMBER OF MILLION WORD READERS.
I POINT THAT OUT TO THE LADIES THAT I LIVE WITH AT.
WE WERE THERE TODAY, AND I WILL TELL YOU THAT THERE.
BUT HOW DID STAR GO? DID Y'ALL ALREADY ADMINISTER.
WE ACTUALLY HAVE SCIENCE TOMORROW, SO WE'LL BE DONE BY THE END OF NEXT WEEK.
MID-WEEK. WE'RE IN THE MIDDLE OF IT RIGHT NOW.
IT'S GOING WELL. YOU KNOW THAT IT LOOKS GOOD.
I MEAN, BETTER SAY THAT AGAIN.
IT'S GOING IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION FOR THE MOST PART.
SO WE'RE HAPPY. BUT WE'LL SEE WHERE WE END UP.
ANY OTHER QUESTION FOR? OKAY. THANK YOU, MR. DAVIDSON.
THANK YOU. ITEM 8E, DISTRICT WIDE INTRUDER DETECTION AUDIT REPORT
[Districtwide Intruder Detection Audit Report Findings]
FINDINGS MR. ACUNA. GOOD EVENING.WRIGHT. SUPERINTENDENT ESTRADA.
THIS EVENING, I'M JUST GOING GOING COMMUNICATE THAT THE TOP PRIORITY OF LOCKHART ISD AND THE STATE OF TEXAS IS KEEPING STUDENTS AND STAFF SAFE EVERY DAY.
THE AUDIT TESTS WHETHER A CAMPUS IS ACCESSIBLE TO AN UNAUTHORIZED INDIVIDUAL.
THIS AUDIT SEEKS TO HELP DISTRICTS IDENTIFY HOW CAMPUSES CAN IMPROVE SAFETY FOR STUDENTS, SUCH AS ENSURING EXTERIOR DOORS ARE LOCKED AND PROVIDES AN OPPORTUNITY TO CREATE A SAFER LEARNING ENVIRONMENT FOR OUR STUDENTS AND STAFF.
WE ARE WORKING CLOSELY WITH OUR SCHOOL SAFETY AND SECURITY COMMITTEE TO ENSURE THAT WE ARE TRAINING ALL OF OUR STAFF AND SECURING OUR DOORS FOR THE PROTECTION OF EVERYONE ON OUR CAMPUSES.
WE KNOW THAT THIS WORK DOES NOT END, AND WE APPRECIATE THE BOARD'S SUPPORT.
HOWEVER, IT IS IN THE BEST INTEREST OF STUDENTS THAT WE DO NOT SHARE THIS INFORMATION WITH THE BROADER PUBLIC AS IT COULD LEAD TO COMPROMISING IMPORTANT CAMPUS SECURITY INFORMATION. SPECIFIC DETAILS OF THE INTRUDER DETECTION AUDIT WILL BE DISCUSSED IN THE EXECUTIVE SESSION AND WITH THE SAFETY SECURITY COMMITTEE.
[Consider and/or Approve Staffing for the 2024-2025 School Year ]
[01:25:05]
MISS WEISER.GOOD EVENING, SCHOOL BOARD AND MR. ESTRADA. AS WE CONTINUE TO PLAN FOR 24-25 FISCAL YEAR, WE DO HAVE A FEW REQUESTS WITH THE GROWTH THAT WE HAVE COMING INTO THIS NEW YEAR.
THE FIRST SLIDE THAT I WANT TO SHOW YOU TALKS ABOUT SECONDARY STAFFING.
SO NEXT YEAR WE ARE STARTING OUR EARLY COLLEGE HIGH SCHOOL WITH THE FIRST YEAR.
SO THERE IS A COORDINATOR FOR THAT PROGRAM A HIGH SCHOOL, AN ADDITIONAL HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT ADVOCATE TO ASSIST THE CAMPUS, AN LDMC SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER AND TWO LDMC COURT TEACHERS.
CAN YOU EXPLAIN THE TOTAL COSTS THAT YOU SEE IN THESE NUMBERS? BECAUSE I THINK SOMETIMES PEOPLE CAN GET CONFUSED WITH SALARY VERSUS SURE.
SO THE TOTAL THE COST HERE INCLUDES SALARY AND IT INCLUDES ALL BENEFITS.
SO THE ASSUMPTION IS THAT EVERYBODY WOULD TAKE LION CARE HEALTH CARE WHICH IS ALMOST 5000 A YEAR.
AND IT ALSO INCLUDES OUR PORTION OF TAXES, EMPLOYER TAXES AND TRS COSTS TOO.
SO IT INCLUDES BENEFITS AS WELL, NOT JUST SALARY.
SO I JUST WANT TO KEEP THAT IN MIND.
BUT THIS IS WHERE WE KNOW WE'RE AT RIGHT NOW IN SECONDARY STAFFING.
AT THE ELEMENTARY LEVEL, THERE WERE 11 INSTRUCTIONAL AIDES THROUGHOUT THE FIVE ELEMENTARY CAMPUSES, AND TO KEEP THOSE POSITIONS, WE WOULD MOVE THEM FROM ESSER THREE TO THE GENERAL FUND TO KEEP THEIR SERVICE GOING TO THE DISTRICT.
AND THAT THAT IS THE LAST GROUP OF THE ESSER.
IN OUR CURRICULUM AND INSTRUCTION DEPARTMENT.
AND THEN THERE ARE POSITIONS THAT HAVE BEEN RE PURPOSED.
BUT. SO THAT'S WHY THE NET COMES OUT TO ONLY BEING A COST OF 55,000.
BECAUSE AS THE NEEDS CHANGE FOR THE DISTRICT AND POSITIONS CHANGE, WE HAVE A NET OF 55,000.
THE COORDINATOR FOR STUDENT SERVICES, FOR AN EXAMPLE, WOULD BE ONE OF THOSE CHANGES WITH OUR.
NAVIGATE TO 28 AS WE REPURPOSE AND WHAT WE'RE DOING HAVING NEW GOALS.
HOURLY EMPLOYEES, MOST OF THEM, 99% OF THEM ARE INSTRUCTIONAL AIDES THAT ARE ON A NON-TRADITIONAL WORKWEEK OF 37.5 HOURS, WHICH IT WOULD BE A 7.5 HOUR DAY.
THIS IS SOMETHING THAT WAS REALLY POPULAR YEARS AND YEARS AGO FOR REALLY SMALL DISTRICTS.
BECAUSE MAYBE IT WASN'T NEEDED IN A SMALLER DISTRICT.
BUT AS WE GROW, WE DEFINITELY WANT TO BE ABLE TO RETAIN OUR EMPLOYEES SO THAT WE CAN ALLOW THEM A 40 HOUR WORKWEEK, BUT WE ALSO REALLY NEED THEM FOR 40 HOURS A WEEK VERSUS THE 37.5.
SO WE WOULD LIKE TO MAKE THAT TRANSITION FROM THE SMALL DISTRICT 37.5 HOURS TO THE FULL 40 HOUR WEEK FOR ALL OF OUR EMPLOYEES. THIS IS THE LAST GROUP.
WE'VE KIND OF DONE THIS A LITTLE BIT OVER THE PAST 5 OR 6 YEARS, DOING GROUPS AT A TIME FROM 37.5 TO 8 AND THIS WOULD BE THE FINAL MOVE EVERYBODY AND NOW EVERYBODY IN THE DISTRICT IS ON A 40 HOUR WEEK FOR FULL TIME STAFF.
SO AT OUR LAST BUDGET WORKSHOP TWO WEEKS AGO, WE LOOKED AT THE SUMMARY.
THIS SUMMARY BUDGET, IT WASTHE LAST THING WE LOOKED AT.
THE ONLY THING THAT HAS CHANGED SINCE THAT DAY, ALL OF THE POSITIONS THAT WE THAT I AM ASKING FOR THIS EVENING, THAT WE'RE ASKING FOR THIS EVENING, WERE ALREADY INCLUDED IN THE NUMBER.
THE ONLY THING THAT HAS CHANGED IS ON THE REVENUE SIDE ON THAT FEDERAL REVENUE.
WE TALKED ABOUT THE ESSER UNRESTRICTED INDIRECT COST.
[01:30:01]
SINCE THEN, I'VE COMPLETED AN APPLICATION AMENDMENT FOR THE ESSER APPLICATION AND IT WAS APPROVED.AND THAT'S THE ONLY THING THAT HAS CHANGED.
SO ALL OF THESE POSITIONS WERE ALREADY IN THERE.
WE HAD DISCUSSED THE UNRESTRICTED, UNRESTRICTED INDIRECT COST.
AND SO THIS IS NOW THE RESULT OF PUTTING THAT UNRESTRICTED INDIRECT COST IN THERE.
SO YOU CAN SEE THAT WITH THAT REVENUE, EVEN WITH THE HIGHEST COST.
JUST WANT FOR THE GENERAL PUBLIC WHO MAY NOT HAVE HEARD THE LAST ONE.
WHAT WE'RE REFERRING TO ON MODEL ONE, TWO AND THREE IS THE RAISE.
THERE'S A MODEL ONE RAISE PACKAGE, A MODEL TWO RAISE PACKAGE, AND A MODEL THREE RAISE PACKAGE.
YES, SIR. THANK YOU AND SO FOR THOSE RAISE PACKAGES, EVEN THE MOST EXPENSIVE RAISE PACKAGE WOULD STILL ALLOW US AT A LITTLE UNDER $300,000, AS WE ARE STILL CONTINUING TO WORK THROUGH THE 24-25 BUDGET.
WE'RE STILL PLANNING WE'RE ABLE TO TO KNOW THE REVENUE SIDE BECAUSE WE'RE IN A NON-LEGISLATIVE YEAR.
BUT ON THE EXPENDITURE SIDE, WE'RE STILL PLANNING FOR THE YEAR, SO WE STILL HAVE SOME ROOM THERE.
I THINK THIS LAST CHART IS REALLY AMAZING NEWS.
LOOKING AT DEFICIT BUDGETS, NOT GIVING PAY RAISES AND HIRING FREEZES, YOU KNOW LAYING OFF PEOPLE FROM ESSER POSITIONS AND WE ARE NOT IN THAT SITUATION, YOU KNOW, WE ARE.
YOU KNOW, TO NOT BE IN THAT SITUATION TO WHERE, YOU KNOW, WE'RE LOOKING AT RAISE RAISES TO OUR STAFF OF UP TO 5% AND STILL HAVING FUNDS TO WHERE, YOU KNOW, WE CAN EVALUATE THE GROWTH OF THE DISTRICT AND POSITIONS OUT THERE.
TO WORK ON IS PAYING OFF NOW THAT WE'RE IN THIS BUDGET SEASON.
ABSOLUTELY. I ECHO THAT 100% VERY THANKFUL FOR WHERE WE'RE AT, ESPECIALLY COMPARED TO OUR NEIGHBORS.
SO WITH THAT BEING SAID ON THE STAFFING AND AGAIN, WE'LL GO OVER THIS.
THIS IS WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE TONIGHT.
DO YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS? OH MR. PRESIDENT, I MOVE THAT THE BOARD APPROVE THE POSITIONS AND STIPENDS AS PRESENTED FOR THE 2024 2025 FISCAL YEAR.
I'LL SECOND. WE HAVE A MOTION.
AYE. ANY OPPOSED? PASSES 7 TO 0.
ITEM 9B CONSIDER AND ARE APPROVED TO BE ADVOCACY AGENDA MR.
[Consider and/or Approve TASB Advocacy Agenda]
ESTRADA BOARD.I BELIEVE YOU GUYS HAVE HAD AN OPPORTUNITY TO REVIEW THIS.
WE DID ADD ONE LOCALLY REGARDING ADVOCACY FOR THE PENALTIES THAT RETIRED TEACHERS FACE WHEN THEY TRY TO COME BACK AND WORK FOR US.
PRESIDENT WRIGHT ADDED THAT IN THERE, BUT EVERYTHING ELSE IS WHAT TASB WAS LOOKING TO ADVOCATE FOR.
SO YOU HAVE THOSE ITEMS IN YOUR PACKET, AND I'M HAPPY TO ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS IF YOU MAY HAVE.
NO. I MOVE TO APPROVE THE TASB ADVOCACY AGENDA FOR THE 89TH TEXAS LEGISLATIVE SESSION AS PRESENTED.
WE HAVE A SECOND. ALL THOSE IN FAVOR SAY AYE.
AYE. ANY OPPOSED? PASSES 7 TO 0.
[BOARD AND STAFF COMMENTS-ITEMS OF COMMUNITY INTEREST*]
BOARD AND STAFF COMMENT.MR. RAYOS JUST CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL THE STUDENTS WE RECOGNIZE THIS EVENING AND THANK YOU FOR THE COMMUNITY AND THE DISTRICT AND THE STAFF FOR ATTENDING THE [INAUDIBLE] THAT DEFINITELY HELPS OUR TEACHERS AND OUR STUDENTS.
[01:35:09]
THE OTHER THING THAT I WAS REALLY EXCITED ABOUT WHEN THE FFA PEOPLE WENT THROUGH, I DON'T KNOW IF YOU NOTICED, BUT I NOTICED THEM BIG OLD BELT BUCKLES.SO KUDOS TO THOSE GUYS AND ALL THE OTHER GROUPS.
AND ONCE AGAIN, IT'S EXCITING TO BE ABLE TO SIT HERE OR STAND HERE AND CONGRATULATE ALL OF THESE STUDENTS THAT ARE DOING GREAT THINGS, BECAUSE WE GET TO HEAR THE OTHER END. WAY MORE THAN I'D LIKE TO.
SO. MR. GUYTON. YEAH, ALL OF OUR TEACHERS DO AN OUTSTANDING JOB, OUR TEACHERS, COACHES, DIRECTORS.
BUT I JUST REALLY WANT TO GIVE KUDOS TO MR. RODRIGUEZ AND WHAT HE DOES WITH THE COLOR GUARD, PARTICULARLY AT SUCH A YOUNG LEVEL AND, YOU KNOW, HAVING BEEN INVOLVED IN THAT PART OF TEACHING BEFORE, I DON'T KNOW IF WE QUITE UNDERSTAND WHAT THEY WHAT WAS BEING SAID WHEN WE TALKED ABOUT THE BETTER OUR KIDS GET, THE HIGHER THEY PUSH THEM UP. SO THEY'RE COMPETING AGAINST PROGRAMS THAT ARE MUCH LARGER THAN OURS, SOMETIMES 2 TO 3 TIMES LARGER WITH MAMMOTH BUDGETS AND HE'S DOING IT AND HE'S WINNING. SO THAT'S IMPRESSIVE AND THAT'S INCREDIBLE.
PEOPLE TALK ABOUT HIM ALL THROUGHOUT THE BAND WORLD AND WHAT HE'S DOING HERE IN LOCKHART.
SO I JUST WANT TO GIVE KUDOS TO HIM.
THAT'S A IT'S` REALLY JUST AN OUTSTANDING JOB THAT HE'S DOING.
SO HE'S DOING AN OUTSTANDING JOB AND THEN I JUST WANTED TO THANK THE EDUCATION FOUNDATION FOR A WONDERFUL EVENT, AS EVERYBODY ELSE HAS SAID, BUT ALSO OUR TWO INCREDIBLE CHEFS RIGHT HERE AMONG OUR BOARD.
BUT I TELL YOU, IT WAS A HIGH POINT OF MY EVENING.
YOU CONSIDER THAT A PERMANENT APPOINTMENT? YES I DO, I'M LIKE, WE'RE PASSING THE BATON.
[INAUDIBLE] DON'T COUNT ON THAT MOTION, MISS PULLIAM.
I JUST WANT TO ECHO CONGRATS TO ALL THE HONOREES TONIGHT.
THEY'RE GOING TO BE GOING ON TO STATE ALSO TO THE BOYS, 4 BY 100 OR 200 MARK.
THEY BROKE BOTH OF THE RECORDS FOR SCHOOL.
IT WAS A GREAT TRACK SEASON FOR THEM AND THEIR THREE OF THEM ARE JUST FRESHMEN, SO THEY'VE GOT SOME REALLY GOOD THINGS TO LOOK FORWARD TO WITH THEIR AND THEN ALSO I'LL JUST SAY IT AGAIN, THE 50 LIONS, JUST BECAUSE THAT EVEN IS ONE OF MY LITTLE BABIES.
BUT IT'S AMAZING TO SEE THE COMMUNITY COME OUT AND SUPPORT THE TEACHERS.
IT'S JUST IT'S A VERY UNIQUE NIGHT, AN EVENT THAT SO MANY PEOPLE OF ALL WALKS OF LIFE CAN COME TOGETHER AND HAVE FUN AND SUPPORT THE TEACHERS. I THINK IT'S AMAZING FOR THE TEACHERS TO BE ABLE TO SEE THAT THE COMMUNITY TRULY SUPPORTS THEM.
I THINK WE HAD. NUMBERS, BUT LIKE 695 PEOPLE THAT CAME TO THAT EVENT.
AMAZING WORK FROM OUR TEACHERS AND I WILL BACK YOU UP ON THAT.
BUT I DO WANT TO SAY THAT MR. LOCKHART IS NOT JUST A PRETTY FACE HE CAN BAKE AND SO IN SPITE, IN SPITE OF THE FACT THAT WE WERE PUT IN THE CORNER, WE STILL GOT SECOND PLACE.
NOBODY PUTS HIM IN THE CORNER.
NOBODY PUTS ANYBODY IN THE CORNER.
NO, SAM AND I ARE GOING TO PASS THE BATON.
WE'RE PASSING IT UP TO THE REST OF THE BOARD.
I'VE DONE IT. THERE'S OTHER ONES THAT HAVEN'T DONE IT.
TO THE ALL THE PEOPLE THAT ORGANIZED IT.
WE THOUGHT IT WAS ALL GREAT AND WE ALL HAD FUN AND WE APPRECIATE THE SPACE.
WE DID HAVE MORE SPACE AND WE DID AT THE LIONS CLUB.
SO THAT WAS GREAT AND CONGRATULATIONS AGAIN TO ALL THE KIDS THAT ARE GETTING RECOGNIZED AND ALL THE TEACHERS AND EVERYBODY THAT SUPPORTS THE KIDS, BECAUSE WITH OR WITHOUT A TEACHER GUIDANCE AND A GOOD ROLE MODEL, THESE KIDS ARE LIKE WOULD NOT BE SO EXCITED.
SO AGAIN, CONGRATULATIONS TO SERGIO RODRIGUEZ BECAUSE HE'S DOING AN OUTSTANDING JOB.
AND SO WE'RE EXCITED AND THANKFUL AGAIN THAT WE ALWAYS GET TO RECOGNIZE KIDS THAT ARE DOING GREAT.
THAT'S IT. WELL, I GUESS IT'S THE BATON BEING PASSED.
ARE WE READY TO NOMINATE RENE AND TOM TO THE [INAUDIBLE].
[01:40:01]
YEAH, THEY DID CHILI.Y'ALL HAD US IN HELL'S QUARTER AND THEY JUST DIDN'T PLACE, THAT'S ALL.
I MEAN, I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO TELL YOU.
I THINK WE MADE A GOOD TEAM BE A GOOD TEAM.
BUT CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL THE STUDENTS THAT WERE RECOGNIZED TODAY.
AND THAT EVENT WITH THE 50 LIONS OF COOK WAS JUST AMAZING HOW WELL THAT THE MACHINE THEY HAVE GOING OUT THERE, IT'S SO WELL ORGANIZED AND YOU KNOW, IT'S A REALLY FUN EVENT TO GO TO AND SO [INAUDIBLE] FORWARD TO WALKING AROUND AND GETTING TO VISIT WITH EVERYBODY.
I CAN'T WAIT TO CELEBRATE ALL OF THOSE VERY DESERVING STAFF MEMBERS.
SO. MR. GUYTON. WILL YOU CLOSE US OUT TONIGHT? SURE. DEAR GOD, WE THANK YOU.
WE REALIZE THAT WE ARE BLESSED HERE.
AND WE JUST THANK YOU FOR THAT WONDERFUL OPPORTUNITY THAT WE'VE HAD.
AMEN. IT IS 9:33, AND THIS MEETING IS ADJOURNED.
